Thankfully for those of us who don't speak French, this year Titan Comics put out the first-ever English translations, which includes Part 1: Escape and Part 2: Explorers. Part 1 just came out in paperback in June, and I got my grubby, sci-fi-loving hands on a copy.

True, there are explosions and sci-fi weirdness and the aquarium-walled train car I didn't know I wanted, but let's be real: the high point here is Tilda Swinton being a bad guy. Snowpiercer will hit stateside theaters on June 27. As we've reported previously, there was some dispute over whether the film was suitable for Western audiences (because we're dumb, or something). Good news: Snowpiercer will remain uncut. Bad news: it won't be receiving a wide release. If you're hoping to see it in theaters, cross your fingers that it'll be playing nearby.
