Syfy’s Face Off Pairs DC Comic Artists With Contestants This Season

Syfy’s Face Off is one of my favorite shows. I’ve always been interested in movie makeup but didn’t have the skill to make it a career plus, the show isn’t overly dramatized like most reality TV these days. They premiered the fourth season last night and while I’ve yet to watch the episode, we’ve just found out some people we’re very familiar with will be making a guest appearance in a few weeks – employees of DC Comics. Find out if your favorite creator will be giving their artistic input to the contestants after the cut.

Wonder Woman Gets Brand New Origin Story At DC (Spoilers)

The spoilers won’t come until after the jump but you’re probably going to have a tough time steering clear of this one. Why? The big reveal doesn’t happen in Wonder Woman #2, out October 19th, it comes a whole month later in Wonder Woman #3, being released November 16th. Today, the DC Source Blog and the NY Post revealed that in Brian Azzarello and Cliff Chiang’s relaunched Wonder Woman title, the most famous Amazon would be receiving a new origin story.

Things We Saw Today: Wonder Woman Variant Art by Cliff Chiang

1. According to Cliff Chiang, it’s an “early promo image” of Wonder Woman #1 and 2. it reminds me of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, even though she’s holding an ax. And there’s nothing about it that isn’t awesome. (via DC Women Kicking Ass)

If DC Superheroines Were 70′s Girl Rockers The Runaways

Artist Cliff Chiang watched The Runaways and then drew this, and our lives are now that much more complete. For the record, that’s Wonder Woman as Joan Jett, Black Canary as Cherie Currie, Zatanna as one of six possible bassists, and Batgirl (with facepaint in an homage to The Dark Knight Returns‘ Sons of Batman?) as Sandy West. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Wonder Woman’s lasso reinterpreted as sound equipment either.

And now you may discuss what song they are playing. Chiang has already submitted Bad Reputation. I always knew Wondy would be an alto. Bigger picture behind the jump.
