Evan Rachel Wood is calling for YouTube to remove Marilyn Manson’s 2007 music video for “Heart-Shaped Glasses.” The Westworld actress shared a petition on her Instagram Stories calling for the video’s removal after revealing she was allegedly drugged and raped during the filming. In light of this information, the video is in violation of YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Policies. The petition now has nearly 30,000 signatures.

The petition reads, “Survivors and allies need to come together to remove things like this. This should not still be allowed on YouTube, or circulating anywhere for that matter. Evan has re-victimized herself over and over again to create change and a statute of limitations in the state of California, and doesn’t deserve a constant reminder of her sexual assault on the internet.”

Wood’s documentary Phoenix Rising details the domestic abuse she allegedly suffered during her relationship with shock rocker Marilyn Manson. The documentary, which is directed by Amy Berg (This Is PersonalThe Case Against Adnan Syed), delves into the physical, emotional, and sexual violence allegedly committed by Manson, and Wood’s committed activism work for survivors of domestic violence. Since Wood outed her abuser, several women have stepped forward to detail their own allegedly abusive relationships with Manson.

YouTube spokesperson Jack Malon issued a statement saying, “We’re monitoring the situation closely and will take appropriate action if we determine there is a breach of our creator responsibility guidelines.” Of course, this would hardly be the first time that YouTube has refused to remove videos in direct violation of their policies. Manson has denied the allegations and has filed a counter-suit against Wood for defamation.

Phoenix Rising is currently available to stream on HBO Max.
