Star-Lord

  1. The Comic Industry Just Had The Best Sales Month In Recorded History. You Can Thank Rocket Raccoon.

    *pets head*

I've talked often about how successful comic book movies don't necessarily get new readers into comic shops (and don't really try to) but it seems that just this once, it's happened. People freaking love a potty-mouthed raccoon a whole lot.

  2. New Guardians of the Galaxy Trailer Shows Star-Lord Being a Badass

Damn it, I just got "Hooked on a Feeling" out of my head.

Sure, this new exclusive trailer from MTV doesn't have the same character round-up as the theatrical version does, but it does have some delightful new footage of Chris Pratt's Peter Quill, AKA Star-Lord, attempting a grand escape from Djimon Hounsou. Look, he's even wearing the mask! Color me excited, friends.

  3. Agent of S.T.Y.L.E. – The Man Called Star-Lord!

    Agent of S.T.Y.L.E.

This summer, Marvel Studios is bringing Guardians of the Galaxy to the silver screen. The original team known by that name were freedom fighters from different human colonies who operated in the 30th century. In more recent years, the name was revived for a modern-day team of misfit heroes who banded together under the leadership of Peter Jason Quill AKA the Star-Lord. The modern-day version of the team is the one that will appear on-screen and Star-Lord will be played by Chris Pratt, famous for his roles in Parks and Recreation and films such as Her and Zero Dark Thirty. But who is this guy? Not Pratt, we know that he's a hilarious and affable actor. I mean Peter Quill. What's his deal? How have his role, origin and sense of style changed over the years? What was the original intention? What with those funky helmets he wears? It's all right here for you to enjoy!

  5. Celebrate Chris Pratt’s Guardians of the Galaxy Casting With Some of the Best Andy Dwyer GIFs Ever

Entertainment news keeps on rolling in today, and it looks like Parks and Recreation's Chris Pratt, as in the actor behind Andy Dwyer, will be taking on the role of Star-Lord in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. That's... amazing. Like, there really aren't words to describe how happy I am at this news. Not only does Pratt totally deserve the chance to portray a superhero like Star-Lord, but the man is by far my favorite actor on Parks and Recreation. Yes, the Internet loves Nick Offerman's Ron Swanson -- as do I -- but Pratt's take on Andy is both hilarious and heartfelt. To celebrate his casting, here's a series of Andy Dwyer GIFs that are just fabulous.

  6. Lex Luthor or Jim Halpert Possibly to Star in Guardians of the Galaxy?

    Elsewhere on the internet

There have been a ton of Guardians of the Galaxy casting rumors floating around as of late. By my count there've been seven actors reportedly in contention to play the lead role of Star-Lord (aka Peter Quill), the latest being Joseph Gordon-Levitt. And now you can add two more to the list: Michael Rosenbaum, best known for playing Lex Luthor in Smallville, and The Office's John Krasinski. And Drax the Destroyer has gotten in on the rumor mill as well, with three actors reportedly vying to play him.

  7. Joseph Gordon-Levitt May be Branching Out of the DC Universe to Guardians of the Galaxy

    Holy Rusted Metal Batman!

There's a lot of Guardians of the Galaxy casting news floating around, because, well, there's not much else to talk about right now. It's not even really casting news, just information on who Marvel Studios has on their shortlist. And while that's nice and all it's only interesting to a point. But talking to an actor from the other big superhero franchise that you just went up against in the summer blockbuster season? Okay, now you're getting my interest gears going.
