Our 2nd birthday was at the end of February but WHO CARES Ant at Nerdache Cakes dedicated this Lois Lane cake to us. It’s a good thing we only have pictures so we don’t have to feel conflicted about destroying its aesthetic appeal in order to devour it. She’s got lots more pictures of it at her Tumblr.
Once Upon a Time is taking advantage of their special brand of magic by starting work on an Alice in Wonderland spinoff series. Two characters have just been cast but it’s also been announced the hit ABC series is branching out into graphic novel territory.
The art of Drew Struzan has become as inseparable from Star Wars as the music of John Williams. Indeed, it’s hard to imagine cinema culture in the seventies and eighties without his Back to the Future or Indiana Jonesor An American Tail, or pretty much anything else of that era that involved either Stephen Spielberg or Harrison Ford. So it should come as no surprise that Disney is interested in getting him back for their continuation of the Franchise.
Late last year we learned The CW was starting to look for an actress to take on the iconic Wonder Woman show for their series Amazon. We finally have at least one name to throw out there and it’s someone genre fans may be familiar with. Being Human UK’s Amy Manson.
Not sure how many of you watch Being Human. I started with the U.K. version years ago and fell in love instantly. I was skeptical of the American remake featuring the vampire, ghost, werewolf dynamic at first but have grown to love the characters so I’m excited it’s finally making its return January 14th. Here’s a few quick looks at what we can expect in Season 3.
Also, trademark Tim Burton stripes. The new video features long-time Burton collaborator Winona Ryder as a mannequin but also a real-life star of some sort (perhaps herself?). Also along for the ride is actor Craig Roberts who played creepy Adam on the BBC’s Being Human. And well, he might be creepier here as he’s obsessed with Ryder’s character. The director said the film was inspired by the 1935 film Mad Love and that one time he saw Ryder’s wax figure at Louis Tussaud’s. I won’t spoil where this whole story leads but let’s just say, if you weren’t already aware of how strange Burton’s imagination was before, you will certainly be sure of it now.
What? There’s no promotional pictures yet, this was the best possible alternative (Trust me, I could have gone the gross-out route). The BBC has comissioned a new show called In the Flesh, an “event drama” that will air on BBC Three. Well, they’ve already done vampires, werewolves, and ghosts after all. Hit the jump for more info!
