The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn

KILL IT WITH FIRE: The Animatronic Twilight Baby [VIDEO]

The Human Machine

If you're easily frightened, don't play this video. All others, prepare to be scarred for life. The supernatural baby we got in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn was terrible...just...terrible. But what we didn't know was, it could have been much, much worse. Are you following The Mary Sue on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, & Google +?

Breaking Dawn – Part 2 Is Named the Year’s Worst Movie by the Razzies. Go On, Act Surprised.

Of Course!

There were worse movies to come out this year, to be sure. But, like the Oscars they were created to mock, the Razzie Awards is just a yearly bit of fluff that picks their winners (or "winners") based on mostly meaningless criteria. So let's just sit back and have fun with it, yeah?

To the Surprise Of No One, Breaking Dawn – Part 2 Gets Nominated in Every Single Razzie Awards Category

This Makes Sense

Tomorrow morning the 2013 Oscar nominations will be announced, but today we're focusing our attention on the Razzies, which have honored (well, "honored") the worst achievements in film since 1981. Judging by the noms alone, Razzie voters seem to have already picked their least favorite film of the year: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2, which was nominated 11 times in 10 categories. I'd question what the Razzies will do now that there are no more Twilight movies to nominate (THANK. YOU. GOD.), but it's not like there's any shortage of awful movies without sparkly vampires in them. Still, the Razzies should give the franchise a lifetime achievement award or something.

Some Elder Vampires React To Twilight. Wait, No. I Meant Elderly People. [VIDEO]

I'll Allow It

I'm sure there are some elderly folks out there who enjoy Twilight but these women and men aren't them. To be fair, the Fine Brothers didn't show them the entire film, just the trailer for Breaking Dawn Part 2, and asked for their impressions. Which, as you can imagine, are humorous. Enjoy!

Twilight’s Robert Pattinson Would Take Any Role Just To Be In Star Wars VII

May The Force Be With You

Robert Pattinson is doing a lot of press these days thanks to the final installment of the Twilight franchise, Breaking Dawn Part 2, being released this past week. Since he's not actually the biggest fan of anything having to do with Twilight, interviewers take part of their time to ask him other, more interesting questions. For instance, would he be interested in a role in Disney's Star Wars VII? Yes, yes he would. And he is willing to play anyway. Yes, anyone, even Jar-Jar.

First Time Lionsgate Has Two Films Make Over $125 Million In The Same Year They Do It With Female Leads

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

There's been a lot of talk about how Hollywood doesn't believe female-led films will make money at the box office and that's why so few are made. This year not only proved them wrong, it proved them wrong in a big way. Indie studio Lionsgate has done something they've never done before - in 2012, they had two films both make over $125 million in North American theaters. The films? The Hunger Games and Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2.

Man Arrested For Planning A Twilight: Breaking Dawn Theater Shooting

We were shocked and devastated earlier this year when we heard the news of a gunman entering a theater showing The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, Colorado and opening fire. Twelve people were killed, 58 injured, and countless affected. That's why it's so hard to comprehend someone trying to copy the behavior of the shooter. Crisis was averted yesterday when police arrested a 20-year-old man after receiving a tip from his mother. She believed he was planning an attack on a theater full of people sitting down to watch the last film in the Twilight series this week and it turns out she was right.

Robert Pattinson Speaks On Behalf Of Every Twilight Hater In The World [VIDEO]

we loled

Whenever we do a post on Twilight on The Mary Sue, we inevitably get comments with people talking about how much they despise Stephenie Meyer's writing, the actors involved, or just, you know, the fact that it exists at all. But the funny thing is, you clicked on a story about Twilight so we're not sure how to help you. So today, in order to please both those who hate sparkly vampires and those who've probably already seen The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 by now, we've got a wonderful video from Buzzfeed. They spliced together bits of interviews with Robert Pattinson talking about the films and his character Edward. Which he can't stand. And well, I'd feel really bad for him if he didn't have hundred dollar bills falling on the floor every time he raked his hands through his hair. Seriously though. Watch. Twilight Is Almost Over, Host Fever Begins [TRAILER]

Assuming Direct Control

I have no problem admitting I've read Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series (yes, even that bit online from Edward's point of view). I don't think it's classic literature, but I enjoyed it for what it was. What I haven't read is Meyer's previous novel, The Host, which has a very Invasion of the Body Snatchers-type premise. I haven't heard great things about it, but Summer Entertainment has timed its release very well to coincide with the ending of the Twilight Saga films. It stars Saoirse Ronan in the lead role though, and I adore her. Good trailer if nothing else? (via Deadline) Are you following The Mary Sue on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, & Google +?

The Hobbit Reaches #1 in Online Ticket Sales, Has Probably Already Made More Money Than You Do in a Year

Not all that glitters is gold

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is already doing pretty well for itself at the box office. Last Wednesday, the first day tickets went on sale, the film grabbed a third of all Fandango ticket sales, handily beating Skyfall (out today) and previous number one Breaking Dawn - Part 2 (out next week). You can make the point that there's not too much competition on a Wednesday, and also that of course The Hobbit will grab the #1 spot on the first day tickets for it are on sale. You'd be right. But it's still in the #3 spot today, despite the fact that it's not coming out for over a month. And anyway, you're missing the point. The Hobbit is a force to be reckoned with. Respect The Hobbit! Double-Standard Central: Everyone Needs to Stop Freaking Out About This Kristen Stewart Thing

Oh Hollywood

I don’t really need to tell you what’s going on with Kristen Stewart right now. If you have an Internet connection, you know. She cheated on Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson with Rupert Sanders, the married director of Snow White and the Huntsman. The scandal has given birth to a plethora of gossip rag covers, a few awkward TV interviews and speculation on how the final film in the Twilight franchise might be affected by the break-up of its stars. I don’t want to talk about any of those things. With everybody—from gossip hubs like Perez Hilton and TMZ to legitimate bastions of entertainment journalism like Variety and The Hollywood Reporter—keeping the public informed about the (possibly career-ruining, if reports can be believed) scandal, what gets me most curious about this whole thing is why people care so much.

The cast of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 made their final Comic-Con appearance as a group on Thursday. But what they may have missed was a slew of character posters just revealed online. The last images we saw gave us the debut of Renesmee while these show us just how many vampires you can expect to see in the finale. Which is your favorite clan?
