Summer Glau, Ron Perlman, and Elijah Wood To Voice Comic Book Characters In Alternate Peter Pan Story

How do you get someone to watch your motion comic? Cast Elijah Wood, Summer Glau, and Ron Perlman. They’ll be voicing characters in Image Comic’s Peter Panzerfaust, a World War II-set Peter Pan tale. And oh yeah, it’s bringing Hook’s Rufio, Dante Basco, back to Neverland as well.

We live in a world full of spectacle. Within that world, there’s no international spectacle (insert jazz hands) that quite matches the opening ceremony of the Olympics. Yes, it’s grand, and magnificent, and painstakingly planned down to every detail. It also has a tendency to be goofy and over-the-top. We felt things, and we laughed, and sometimes we yawned. We sat down to watch the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics last night, and we’ve compiled some of the best–and most ludicrous–moments.

Well, this one we didn’t expect. In an attempt to show off all the glory that is their Britishness, the open ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics on Friday may just feature a pretty epic battle scene–headlining Harry Potter villain Lord Voldemort and the eponymous hero of Mary Poppins. It’s a pairing we never knew we always wanted? Possibly? We don’t know, we’re still pretty flabbergasted by this.

Darth Vader is Still Hanging At Disneyland, Getting Razzed by Peter Pan

One brave Disneyland goer filming the Soundsational parade actually captured this moment in candid but low rez glory two months ago, but even if not candid, it loses none of its adorability.

And honestly, it’s a toss up on whether You Can Fly! or Cantina Band is a bigger earworm.

Hey, so if Marvel is owned by Disney now, can we get that Doctor Doom/Darth Vader meetup we’ve all been secretly hoping for? Maybe a villain-centric parade? I’d make time for that in my park-going schedule.

A Peter Pan Movie We Won’t Get to See, But Here’s the Trailer [Video]

This is a star-studded Peter Pan prequel that has been described as “a bold new take” on the original tale by J.M. Barrie and features Anna Friel, Keira Knightley, and Rhys Ifans, who appears to be playing a pre-pirate Captain Hook. Even more interesting: Bob Hoskins is reprising his role as Smee — from Hook. Hook! (Bangarang!) But here’s the bad news: it will be shown exclusively on the UK’s Sky Movies HD channel, so many of us will not get to see it. At least not legally. Collider has a clip and images so we can at least take a peek.

Hopefully, this will make it across the pond. (SyFy, can you hear me?)
