Tom Hiddleston Impressions: Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog

If you like Tom Hiddleston (and who doesn’t?), you probably know that he likes a good impression. Here’s a clip of him imitating Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog. Is there anything this man can’t do?

Miss Piggy Will Never Forgive the Academy. Never. Ever. [Video]

Miss Piggy is upset. Why? Because once again, she has been snubbed — snubbed — for an Oscar nomination, and she is not just going to sit around and be quiet about it. As you’ll see in the video above, this has been going on since she was passed over in 1980 for her work in The Muppet Movie, and now she’s upset about having been passed over again for her work in The Muppets. But she’s also sad for Michael Fassbender‘s snub, even though Kermit doesn’t know what the big deal is.

Oh, the plight of the Muppet.

Miss Piggy Hosts the BAFTAs Red Carpet; Flummoxes Michael Fassbender and Many Others

Starring Michael Fassbender (who has no idea how to talk to a muppet about Shame), Tom Hiddleston, Gary Oldman, Octavia Spencer, Daniel Radcliffe, Chris O’Dowd, Gillian Anderson, James Corden, Jonah Hill, and John Hamm, who starts things off right with a pork joke.

The problem with Piggy and Gillian Anderson hanging out together is that I don’t know who to be jealous of.

The Muppets, In Theaters Today (Miss Piggy Already Working on “Sequel”)

It’s hard to believe to American fans that The Muppets has only just arrived on the other side of the pond: the movie premiered today in England, and Bleeding Cool was on hand to interview the movie’s (felted) romantic couple. Piggy drops some hints about a sequel, but as somewhat experienced followers of entertainment news, we sadly don’t think it’ll be showing up on IMDB any time soon.

Things We Saw Today: Darth Vader On a Vespa

So, Darth Vader was cruising around on his vespa one sunny afternoon, when all of a sudden, a bus pulled up. Does the Sith Lord: a) Ask the bus driver for directions before strangling him with the Force, b) Board the bus and use the Force to propel the vespa into a safe parking spot, or c) Continue calmly to the nearest Red Mango? Choose your own adventure, everyone! (via Blastr)

And All Was Right With the World

Kermit & Miss Piggy Have Some Choice Words For Fox News

You may remember The Muppets director James Bobin notoriously spoke the words,”No, the Muppets are not communist,” in response to a flashy Fox News piece saying the film was part of an anti-corporate message from “liberal Hollywood using class-warfare to brainwash our kids.” Well a wonderful video turned up today. Speaking during a UK press conference following the London Premiere of their film, Kermit and Miss Piggy fired back with classic Muppet wit and sarcasm. Game. Set. Match.

Project Runway Contestants Geek Out Over Pulchritudinous Porcine

To be perfectly honest, we wondered how seriously contestants would be able to take a challenge to design for a puppet… but it turns out: way more seriously than some of the other judges. There’s another video (unembeddable) of the actual judging here.

Just Don’t Call Project Runway‘s New Guest Judge the ‘P’ Word

We mean ‘pig,’ but ‘puppet’ is just as applicable.

Which raises the question: is anyone going to raise the puppet question in this episode? Piggy was only fictionally Vogue Paris’ plus size editor. Presumably her dialogue will be improvised by Eric Jacobson, her current performer, so I suppose it’s not really all that different from having a celebrity judge who is an actress or singer, not a fashion professional. Perhaps a bit sillier. Which is perfectly appropriate given Piggy’s Muppet affiliations.

Or maybe the entire cast is under contract to not make reference to the fact that she’s not a real person, and this episode of Project Runway will be a candidate for Muppet canon. Because that would be delightful.

Muppet Origins: Movie Prequel Or Fine Art?

I’ve wanted to give Kermit the Frog a hug on countless occasions but perhaps never have I thought he actually needed one so much as right now. Take a look at artist Graham Annable’s perception on where Kermit, Miss Piggy and Gonzo got their start.

Watch the Muppets on The Tonight Show Last Night, Today

Jay Leno really doesn’t want anyone taking over his time slot, apparently. Below, Animal and OK Go collaborate on something other than a staring contest.
