Secret Service Faces a New Nightmare As Iranian Television Explicitly Targets Barron Trump With a Multi-Million Dollar Reward for His Capture

Iranian state television just dropped a chilling three-minute segment that’s sending shockwaves through the Secret Service. The broadcast, which aired on a platform linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, zeroes in on Barron Trump with a $10 million reward for his capture. According to LADBible, the video, titled Where to Kill Barron Trump?! in a font that looks like dripping blood, claims to have Barron “fully monitored.”
It shows what it says are dorm rooms at New York University’s Constance Milstein & Family Global Academic Center, where the 20-year-old is a student. The segment also names his Xbox and EA FC accounts, along with two alleged classmates. The narrator wraps it up with a line that’s hard to shake: “This is just the beginning! Barron Trump, wait for us!”
Iran International couldn’t verify any of the claims, and the whole thing relies on dramatized graphics rather than hard evidence. But the fact that it aired on state television at all is a big deal. Threats against the president and his family have been part of Iranian political rhetoric for years, but this is the first time the focus has shifted so explicitly to his son. Previous videos targeted Donald Trump himself and Melania, often with similar over-the-top visuals and ominous narration.

Since the war kicked off on February 28, when the U.S.-Israeli strikes killed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and other top Iranian officials, hardline messaging has gone into overdrive. Hundreds of thousands of mourners at Khamenei’s funeral chanted against the U.S. and Israel, and some hardliners openly called for Trump’s assassination. The latest broadcast takes that rhetoric to a new level by dragging a 20-year-old college student into the crosshairs.
The Secret Service isn’t taking this lightly. A spokesperson confirmed they’re aware of the video and investigate anything that could be perceived as a threat. They didn’t go into detail, since they never discuss protective intelligence. This isn’t the first time the agency has had to scramble in response to Iranian threats. Back in July, they covertly transferred Trump off Air Force One onto a different plane after getting wind of a potential plot targeting the aircraft.
The IRGC has a long history of targeting U.S. officials, especially in retaliation for the 2020 killing of Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani. U.S. prosecutors have accused Iran of plotting to kill former national security adviser John Bolton and even Trump himself. In 2024, they alleged Tehran had tasked an operative with developing a plan to assassinate the president.
The threats against Melania have followed a similar pattern
A July video from Tasnim News Agency, another IRGC-linked outlet, claimed to know the First lady’s favorite luxury shops in Manhattan and gave would-be assassins tips on how to spot her. That one also ended with a warning to Barron.
Previous threats were about policy – retaliation for Soleimani, sanctions, or military strikes. This one is about a child. The video doesn’t just stop at Barron, either. It also claims to have uncovered his gaming accounts and social circles. Anyone who has ever played FIFA or hopped on Discord, knows how easy it is to get doxxed. The threat feels like a deliberate attempt to exploit that vulnerability.
The economic backdrop here is just as tense. The U.S. is ramping up financial pressure on Iran, with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent declaring that Iran’s economy is about to face an “economic D-Day.” Trump himself posted on Truth Social that “IRAN IS COMPLETELY COLLAPSING!!!”
Meanwhile, voices inside Iran are sounding the alarm. Parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned that no amount of military power can save the country if its people are hungry and its economy is in freefall.
It’s hard not to view the video as a desperate move
Iran’s leadership is under immense pressure, and lashing out at a 20-year-old might be their way of trying to regain some leverage. But it’s a dangerous game. The Secret Service has made it clear they won’t tolerate threats against protectees, and if history is any indication, they’ll respond with heightened security measures. For Barron, that likely means even tighter restrictions on his movements and a whole lot more scrutiny on his online presence.
The whole issue is a reminder of how quickly geopolitical tensions can spill into personal lives. Barron Trump isn’t a policymaker, but he’s being treated like one because of who his father is. That’s a harsh reality for anyone in the public eye, but especially for someone who’s just trying to finish college. The video’s claims about his gaming accounts and classmates are particularly unsettling because they show how easily personal details can be weaponized.

If anything, it’ll probably push the Secret Service to adopt even more aggressive countermeasures. For now, Barron Trump remains under heavy protection, and the Iranian regime’s decision to target him directly is a sign of just how high the stakes have become.
