That’s why one man’s move at The Cheesecake Factory has caught so much attention online. While it could have seemed like he was telling a woman what to eat, many viewers saw it differently.
TikToker @lovelymortal2 shared the interaction in a video that has received more than 2.6 million views. While sitting across from the man at The Cheesecake Factory, she reached for the restaurant’s SkinnyLicious menu. What he did next had people calling him a green flag.
Viewers knew what he meant
As the pair looked through their options, the man was already thinking about what they could share. “I think we’ve done it before. Do you wanna do the factory nachos for an appetizer?” he asks. When the woman reaches for the SkinnyLicious menu, however, he takes it away from her. “Oh, don’t worry about it, you don’t need that,” he tells her.
The moment stood out because the SkinnyLicious menu has already faced criticism over what its name suggests about food and body size. One customer recently argued that the menu is misleading and questioned whether customers are really getting healthier meals or simply smaller portions. The menu has also drawn criticism over its use of the word “skinny.”
In this case, viewers didn’t think the man was trying to make his date feel bad about what she wanted to eat. Many interpreted his move as the opposite. They believed he was telling her that she didn’t need to worry about choosing a lighter option around him.

Another wrote, “he ate with that move, then he ate.” One viewer offered a longer interpretation of the interaction. “I think this is a green flag, he’s basically telling you eat whatever you want, don’t worry about pricing, I like you for you not your diet. Maybe it was a little too forward, but still a green flag.”
One commenter had experienced the less pleasant version firsthand. “I had a guy take me out only to shame me for eating 3 onion rings so this is a green flag for me,” they wrote. Not everyone understood the situation at first. “I thought you meant he gave you the skinny menu I had to delete my paragraph,” another admitted.
Another viewer didn’t even know what the SkinnyLicious menu was until seeing the video. Learning about it apparently didn’t improve their opinion. “I did not know what a skinnilicious menu was. now i am informed, and appalled,” they commented.
The man’s Toy Story shirt also ended up getting attention. The woman made it clear that she wasn’t bothered by his choice of clothes, explaining that he’s the kind of person who would wear something like that and that it was his birthday anyway.
Sometimes, it only takes one small moment for someone to earn green flag status on a date. Viewers certainly saw this interaction that way, and some were already curious about where things might go next. “So when is the next date?” one person asked.
