Excuse Me, Princess: Legend of Zelda TV Series in Development at Netflix

Our days of Zelda fan films and our parents/acquaintances not knowing the difference between Link and Zelda are over! OK, both of those things are likely to persist forever, but Netflix really is working on a Zelda TV show!

The Wall Street Journal broke the news and said that the series will revolve around a young Link who has to rescue princess Zelda and save Hyrule, and that Netflix is imagining it as Game of Thrones for a family audience.

Currently Netflix is looking for a writer and reportedly working closely with Nintendo on the series development—though no one’s made any official announcements, so the rest of the details are still a secret to everybody. It’ll supposedly be live action, though, if that puts to rest any recurring nightmares you still have of this:

Though I do like how he says, “I just wonder what Ganon’s up to,” like he’s thinking about calling Ganon up and asking him out. Gee, that Ganon. He’s so keen. I wonder what he’s doing right now.
