Man orders an 11-ounce sirloin he calls the best steak at Texas Roadhouse. Then he asks for it ‘Pittsburgh’d’ and commenters start arguing
Perfect if you like a bit of crunch.

Steak can start an argument over almost anything, from the best cut and cooking style to whether anyone can finish a 72-ounce steak challenge. This time, it started with a sirloin.
Bubba (@bubbahpaints) sparked a steak-related debate when he shared a video on TikTok while at Texas Roadhouse. He ordered his 11-ounce sirloin steak Pittsburgh-style and medium-rare, which naturally sparked arguments about the best cut and how to cook the best steak.
For many viewers, Pittsburgh-style steak seemed unfamiliar, and Bubba’s video introduced a new way to order steak they might want to try. At the same time, some commenters argued that a steak can’t be both Pittsburgh-style and medium-rare.
A Pittsburgh-style steak is all about the crust
Bubba wrote, “How to order the best steak at Texas Roadhouse” in his video, which then shows him ordering the 11-ounce sirloin “medium rare and Pittsburgh’d.” Calling the sirloin the best steak at Texas Roadhouse, where one man alleged that his filet was mixed up with a sirloin, was enough to get commenters to disagree.
The video shows the finished steak arriving at the table, and someone in the video comments on the crust, which is the defining feature of a Pittsburgh-style steak. Bubba then cuts into it to show that it is cooked medium-rare.
According to Food Republic, the essence of a Pittsburgh-style steak is a crust so charred it “looks nearly as black as coal” while the center is still barely warm. That contrast keeps the center tender and gives the meat two distinct textures, a crisp crust and a soft middle.
Commenters have their own opinions on Bubba’s steak order
A number of commenters asked what Pittsburgh style means, but others focused on his choice of cut. “Best steak and sirloin do not belong in the same sentence,” one wrote. Another said, “Sirloins are like beef jerky.”
Other commenters thought Bubba’s steak looked great, though one said their local location had been a letdown. “Our Texas Roadhouse is awful. We stopped going. Steaks were never cooked as asked, and potatoes were always undercooked,” they wrote.
Bubba replied in the comments that if his steak isn’t cooked correctly, he’ll ask to have it redone.
