Houston woman’s date arrived 45 minutes late. Then, her date started complaining about the servers: ‘You just digging a hole for yourself’

Jazz (@allthat_jazzz) from Houston, Texas, waited 45 minutes for her date. He arrived, but after multiple disappointments throughout the night, she decided it was the worst date she’d ever had.

“This guy didn’t even walk me to my car, bro,” Jazz told TikTok, frustrated by her date. He was a 43-year-old man with no kids. Jazz said the man was still single because he works a lot. Regardless, he was 45 minutes late, and Jazz was admittedly irritated.

The man apologized and allegedly used work as an excuse for being late to their date. He explained that he had something due and didn’t want to work on it over the weekend, so he stayed late. Although Jazz said she understood, she was still mad that he was late. Being late was one thing, but Jazz said something else about her date annoyed her.

When he arrived at the restaurant, he kept asking for directions to the table. She told him the host could tell him where she was, but she didn’t want to get up and meet him at the door. Once seated, he asked where the waiter was. When he finally arrived, her date allegedly made an offhand comment.

“Hey man, I thought you were starting to forget about us,” Jazz recalled her date’s words. She didn’t like his remark. Regardless, he proceeded with his order. Then, a party of fifteen younger women came into the restaurant. Then, his date allegedly remarked that their table felt “isolated” and asked Jazz if she wanted to move.

She continued with her date anyway

“Okay, now you being problematic. I don’t like that. You just got here,” Jazz said. She didn’t want to move, and she didn’t even want to leave her date. But unlike this woman from New York City who ditched her date after wine was served, Jazz decided to stay because she didn’t want to make things awkward. They continued their date by ordering food and talking about their dating lives and their families. Toward the end of their meal, the waiter asked if they wanted to look at the dessert menu.

Jazz expected her date to ask if she wanted something for dessert. Instead, the man allegedly said that he was already “stuffed.” Discouraged by his reaction, Jazz didn’t ask for dessert, and her date paid for their meal. After paying, her date allegedly complained, “You know, they’re getting so slick nowadays with the tip.” He had an issue with how small the “other” tip option is. Regardless, the man allegedly claimed that he tipped the server well.

“You just digging a hole for yourself,”  Jazz commented, unamused by her date’s complaining. She was embarrassed by him, but her issue with him didn’t stop after the bill. After their meal, she asked him about his parking spot. He said he came by Uber, which confused Jazz because she assumed he’d come by car. He allegedly explained that he drove but parked his car elsewhere and then ordered an Uber because he was unsure how much he would be drinking. Jazz alleged he lived nearby and that his excuse didn’t make sense.

“Thanks for the meal. The food was mediocre, and I will never do this again,” Jazz said. But an interesting date isn’t enough for people to go on a second, as this New York City woman who had a bizarre date explained.
