Jon Stewart highlights Trump calling a journalist a ‘horrible little reporter’ after being asked about SA allegations in a political ad
“When did Donald Trump become Miss Hannigan?”

Jon Stewart recently spent time on The Daily Show highlighting the aggressive way Donald Trump handles tough questions from the press. According to PEOPLE, he focused specifically on a moment where the President lashed out at NBC journalist Monica Alba during a recent press gaggle. Alba asked the president about his support for a political ad created by Vivek Ramaswamy in his campaign for Ohio governor.
Instead of answering the question, Trump turned his focus on the reporter. He asked which news outlet Alba represented. Upon learning she was from NBC, he called the organization one of the worst networks to have. He then looked directly at Alba and said, “Quiet! You’re a horrible little reporter, aren’t you?” The political attack ad in question features the estranged mother of Ramaswamy’s Democratic opponent, Amy Acton.
The mother, Donna Arthur, calls Acton a liar and says people should not vote for her. Stewart explained how this was concerning since Acton allegedly is a survivor of childhood sexual abuse at the hands of her stepfather, Cledith Arthur. Cledith was arrested for raping her in July 1978. Acton was only 12 years old at the time. The stepfather became a fugitive after failing to appear in court later that year. He stayed married to Acton’s mother until he died in 2004.
Stewart expressed disbelief at how Trump reacted to the question
According to Variety, the late-night host questioned when exactly the president started acting like the character Miss Hannigan. To the reporters, Trump suggested that he would be lucky to have an ad like that if he were running for office. He asked the reporters why they would not listen to a mother who speaks against her own daughter. He even looked to the sky and thanked his own mother for thinking he was wonderful.
The ad itself has caused a lot of friction. Acton spoke about the situation to Spectrum News on October 20. She stated that she refuses to normalize someone who claims her childhood trauma is just a complaint. She also noted that she was removed from her mother’s care at age 12 due to severe abuse and neglect.
Both Trump and J.D. Vance have defended the ad despite the pushback. Trump even posted on Truth Social on October 22. He claimed that a mother speaking about a daughter in that way should normally stop the daughter from serving in office.
This was not the only odd behavior Stewart covered on the show
Stewart spent time talking about Trump’s recent fixation with Nicki Minaj. He played a clip of the president commenting on the rapper’s appearance. Trump said, “I looked at one hell of a beautiful a** before – Nicki Minaj. That’s hard to miss.” Stewart compared Trump’s reaction to Yogi Bear floating toward a pie on a windowsill. He even joked about the president being transfixed while watching the rapper speak.
In his monologue, Stewart noted that voters are supposedly concerned with the economy or the cost of living. He felt that Trump should be focused on those issues instead of people’s physiques.
Mashable reports that the host also took a moment to defend Barack Obama. At a recent campaign rally in Detroit, the former president had made a joke about Trump’s home decor exploits. He compared the White House to a Cheesecake Factory that Saddam Hussein might have opened.
Some right-wing pundits got very angry about that specific joke. Stewart mocked those critics for getting upset about the comparison and being more focused on the eatery rather than Saddam Hussein. He reminded people that the Cheesecake Factory was not an actual factory. He joked that the country did not ship cheesecake jobs to China.
