A deleted ‘Twilight: New Moon’ scene is bringing back the nostalgia, and ColourPop has the perfect makeup palette for fans
At least something good came out of Bella's disastrous birthday.

There’s something about The Twilight Saga: New Moon that makes me want to return to Forks every fall. Maybe it’s the rainy Washington forests, the gloomy fog, or the soundtrack that somehow makes being miserable sound cool. I love practically everything about this movie’s aesthetic. What I don’t love is watching Bella Swan spend months heartbroken because Edward Cullen decided leaving her was the best way to protect her. And now, the official Twilight Saga Facebook account has shared a deleted scene that’s made me even more annoyed with him.
Posted with the caption “October is for New Moon,” the scene revisits Bella’s disastrous birthday, when a paper cut sends Jasper into a frenzy. Bella insists the incident doesn’t change how she feels, even after Edward admits that a normal boyfriend wouldn’t have to resist the urge to kill her. Her response is painfully Bella: “I don’t want normal. I want you.” And what does Edward do? He tells her he doesn’t love her, abandons her in the woods, and disappears with his family.
I had to laugh when I realized ColourPop named one of the shades in its $25 New Moon eyeshadow palette “Paper Cut.” Bella gets one tiny cut, Jasper tries to eat her, and Edward breaks up with her. Naturally, ColourPop decided that belonged in an eyeshadow palette.
I understand why Edward leaves Bella, but I still hate watching it
I can’t entirely blame Edward for being scared after Jasper attacks Bella. He barely managed to save her from James in Twilight, and now his own brother nearly kills her over a paper cut. I’d be questioning a few things, too. But watching this deleted scene knowing what’s coming makes me want to scream. Bella is sitting in her truck trying to convince Edward that she’s okay, completely unaware that he’s already thinking about leaving her.
And we all know how that turns out. Bella spends months barely functioning, Charlie gets so worried that he considers sending her back to live with Renée, and I’m left wondering whether Edward really thought this was the better option. By the time Bella races through Volterra to save him, I’m practically begging for them to get back together. I love their reunion, especially when Edward thinks he must be dead because Bella is standing in front of him. I just wish he’d seen what those months were like for her.
ColourPop even turned Bella’s worst months into eyeshadow shades
I have to give ColourPop credit for naming an eyeshadow “Oct Nov Dec.” Of all the moments to reference, they chose Bella’s three-month depression spiral. The 15-shade palette also includes “Wolf Pack,” “Alice,” and “You’re Everything.” I’m especially glad Alice gets her own shade, considering she’s the one who finally brings Bella and Edward back together.
The colors are another reason I’m tempted. There are plenty of deep browns, warm golds, and berry shades, which are exactly what I love wearing in the fall. ColourPop originally released the collection in January 2025, but with New Moon back on my mind, I’m giving the palette another look. I’d much rather recreate the gloomy colors of Forks with my makeup than spend three months staring out a window because Edward Cullen can’t communicate. Although, knowing me, I’ll probably end up rewatching the movie anyway.
