Fox Orders a Pilot For Another X-Men TV Show and It Sounds Kinda Cool

Recommended Videos

FX’s Legion might not be the only X-Men show heading toward television. SlashFilm reports that Fox, the network that currently airs DC’s Batman series Gotham, has ordered the pilot for an untitled series based on mutants.

The series comes from Burn Notice creator Matt Nix and will look somewhat like the films in that humans know mutants exist and most of them are either afraid or hate them or both. The plot will apparently center on parents who discover that their children have mutant powers. In an effort to protect them from government officials, they suddenly find themselves joining a top secret network of mutants.

It will be produced by Bryan Singer, who directed most of the films in the franchise, alongside screenwriter Somon Kinberk. (Update: It looks like Singer will also be directing the pilot.) For those concerned that these producers seem a little film heavy, they’ll have help with Marvel TV Producers Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory who worked on a number of shows including Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Luke Cage, Daredevil and Jessica Jones.

Should it be officially ordered to series, I wouldn’t count on it tying too much into the films. It doesn’t look like there’s going to be room for overlap. But hey, you never know. Are you into this?
