There may not be hope left for Constantine the SHOW to come back, but its star—both the character John Constantine and actor Matt Ryan—may still have a chance to return to TV screens if the rest of DC’s TV universe has anything to say about it.
At San Diego Comic-Con, two integral members of the Arrow family, star Stephen Amell and co-showrunner Wendy Mericle, mentioned to IGN that they’d really like to have Constantine appear on the show from which all (OK, most) DC TV goodness springs: Arrow. Mericle told them,
Yeah, we really want to do it. It’s something we’ve been talking to DC about and it’s just a question of some political things, but also the actor’s schedule. We’re trying to work it out, but we don’t know 100 percent if it’s going to happen.
Those “political things” may have something to do with Constantine appearing on NBC while Arrow is with The CW, but hopefully NBC doesn’t have any lingering claim over it and it’s just the internal workings of DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. TV that they have to contend with. Amell, the Green Arrow himself, added that his fingers are crossed, and Mericle says she’s optimistic that they can make it happen.
