Channing Tatum Rumored to Be Riding His Pony Away From Gambit

A major cast change may be in the cards (heh) for the upcoming Gambit movie.

According to an unverified report originally shared by The Wrap, Channing Tatum’s deal with 20th Century Fox has been jeopardized, possibly by the actor’s burgeoning interest in directing:

Representatives for 20th Century Fox and Tatum could not immediately be reached for comment.

One individual close to the project told The Wrap that Tatum’s reps are still in active discussions with the studio but acknowledged that “something is up.”

Tatum’s departure would likely be a major blow to the project, which is slated for an October, 2016 release; Tatum has been one of the production’s most vocal supporters, and the studio has already begun testing female leads to star alongside him (in eyerollingly sexist-sounding parts).

I’d hate to see Tatum leave (although I love to watch him go), but maybe with Chanster out of the picture, Taylor Kitsch could be in the running again? I JUST WANT TIM RIGGINS IN THE X-MEN UNIVERSE.

At least we’ll always have SDCC 2015, friends.

What do you think of Channing Tatum possibly pulling out?
