December 18, 2015 can’t come fast enough for Star Wars fans. Everyone’s chomping at the bit for news regarding Episode VII, and what better way to do that than visit a newly redesigned StarWars.com!
Disney decided to revamp the website in anticipation of the interest the new movie is expected to garner. The site design is really creative and is designed to work on any and all browsers. It’s aimed at the new generation of Star Wars fans – but still has plenty of fun information and activities for long-time ones. They’re also planning on having the site be the originating source for all future news related to the franchise. Lucasfilm has already been using it for casting and will continue to do so.
Since the franchise is now part of the Disney network, you can also unlock extra content by using your Disney ID.
In other movie news, Bad Robot confirmed Star Wars: Episode VII is being filmed in IMAX format.

Director J.J. Abrams partially shot Star Trek Into Darkness in IMAX so that about half of the film was converted to the larger format. This might mean the same thing for Star Wars Episode VII, but nothing has been confirmed. An IMAX representative told /Film, “All we can say at this point is that we can confirm that JJ Abrams is using the IMAX camera for Star Wars: Episode VII.”
We’ll just have to hope the entire movie is in IMAX format!
