The world is unarguably terrible right now, so we could all use a little pick-me-up. Fortunately, we’ve got just the post-Halloween joy to cure your pre-midterm blues. Director Patty Jenkins has been sharing some Wonder Woman Halloween costumes that folks have been tweeting at her from around the world. Seeing Wonder Women of all ages, ethnicities, and genders is doing a lot to warm my bitter, cynical heart.

Ever since Jenkins’s superhero epic Wonder Woman opened last year, people have been talking about what it means for girls and women of all ages to see Diana on the big screen. Last year, the hero was a popular Halloween costume, but as a testament to how much Diana matters, she’s still a hit this year, too. Jenkins has spent part of the day on Twitter spreading the love for these wonderful people.

Jenkins’s joy at seeing her heroine represented is clear, but more importantly, she’s also taking the time to uplift the fans of all ages who look up to Diana. Her tweets indicate that both she and star Gal Gadot have been looking at these costumes and celebrating them, which shows that they understand the importance of the character to the audience.

Let the joy overwhelm you, Mary Suevians. I can’t wait to see more Wonder Women at every Halloween from this point onwards.
