Some "lost" stories by the African American legend Zora Neale Hurston are being rereleased, Peggy Orenstein has returned with another compelling read about the youth sex culture of the modern age, and just a sea of new books is arriving from a talented crop of writers. It’s refreshing as hell. I, for one, hope we get a lot more of it very soon. We’ve had years of fat characters relegated to the role of funny sidekick or bad villain or sad morality tale. Shrill doesn’t fall into any of those trappings, and it’s excellently written, acted, and directed, to boot. This series is a must-watch.
