Nicki Minaj is set to rally in Metro Detroit this Sunday: ‘Found the new White House Press Secretary!’

With former Press Secretary Katie Zacharia’s position open, Steven Cheung teases a possible replacement online. Zacharia filled the role of White House Press Secretary for five days before she was fired, but she seems to hold no hard feelings about losing the position as she continues to praise Trump and express that she wishes Americans appreciated him more.

With his post on X, Cheung, the current White House Communications Director, shares that the White House may have found a new Press Secretary in Nicki Minaj. It’s not clear if Cheung is joking or if he’s actually considering Minaj for the job, but Minaj has a history of endorsing Trump, so it wouldn’t be that far-fetched for her to take a role in his administration.

Cheung shared a video of Minaj praising Trump as a businessman

The topic of Minaj being the next Press Secretary originated from Cheung sharing a video of himself speaking with Minaj, in which she gives her explanation as to why she believes the president could help the United States.

In the video, Minaj said, “We have a president that understands economics, first of all. You know, I’ve said before that the president is naturally a businessman. He’s worked his way out of not having a dollar left in the bank. So, if he can do that with himself and his own finances, surely he knows what to do with the country.”

Cheung then shared the video with the caption “Ladies and gentlemen, I think we may have found the new White House Press Secretary! @NICKIMINAJ.”

Minaj is on the campaign trail with Trump now

How long Minaj is planning to rally alongside Trump for the midterms as the election draws near is unknown, but she at least joined him in Metro Detroit this past Sunday. Minaj has been a Trump supporter for a while now, and she even referred to herself as his number one fan in the past.

While Minaj’s plans of staying on the campaign trail and joining the administration haven’t been confirmed, the comments on Cheung’s video show that there isn’t a lot of enthusiasm for his possible Press Secretary pick. Many comments were quick to bring up claims of Minaj allegedly immigrating illegally and the crimes that her husband and brother have been convicted of.

Right now, there’s nothing official regarding Minaj stepping into the Press Secretary role. There’s only speculation based on Cheung’s post, but there also haven’t been other candidates suggested, leaving it a mystery as to who is going to officially replace Zacharia.
