Nothing Can Prepare You For the Logline For Jonathan Majors’ Movie With the Daily Wire

Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

Jonathan Major’s new Daily Wire movie has one of the most bonkers loglines that we’ve ever seen. And, that’s saying something!

If you haven’t been keeping up with the former Marvel star, let’s fill you in. Majors has been filming a movie with Ben Shapiro’s production company. Run Hide Fight: Infidels is the name of the new action film from that particular banner.

Reading the description in Page Six feels like a fever dream, friends. Let’s dive into what the wildly offensive conservative pitch for this movie really is. All most people who have kept themselves in the loop know is that Majors plummeted from a window while shooting this project.

They write, “When radical Islamic terrorists hijack a liberal colleges pro Palestine encampment to enforce barbaric Sharia law on students and execute infidels in a makeshift caliphate, A ragtag band of red blooded students, a security guard tired of ‘Uncle Tom’ smears, and a Delta Force vet must arm up to save their clueless peers and keep America from surrendering to the enemy on its own soil.”

Where to even begin with something so preposterous? If you’re a filmmaker Interested in Conservative propaganda, there is probably funding out there for you. Yesterday, we wrote about Citizen Vigilante. And today, there’s this nonsense!

Majors plays the Delta Force veteran in question rescuing the presumed naive college students and staff from these “foreigners.” It all reeks of a screenwriter that’s been baking by the MAGA reflecting pool a bit too long.

Provided that there are any historians left in the future, they’re going to study the career arc of Jonathan Majors at some point. This man was one of the most sought after actors in all of Hollywood just a few short years ago. And now, he’s a military grunt in a propaganda film for conservatives that live on social media.

It would be sad if the man hadn’t been placed on this path by his own bad decisions. That would include accepting The Daily Wire’s money to fall out of windows on productions that crew members walked away from.

But, Run Hide Fight: Infidels feels like another marker of where the MAGA movement is at the moment. Making movies for their base and then complaining when other people can’t get on-board with the messaging. It’s a weird cycle to be sure.

And, one that doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. There’s always enough people for the grift. Simply put, what would these film makers do if one of these movies became a massive hit?

A film like The Sound of Freedom probably would have been a better proposition as a straight to VOD release. (It’s a rather sad version of “They don’t want you to see this” all the way down.) Just because the marketing that these conservative voices did around it plays better to a direct audience rather than having to go to a theater.

For now, it will be interesting to see what happens with all of this. As with most head-on collisions, it’s hard to look away.
