The first true sequel to Angry Birds, Angry Birds Space, released a few days ago, and as revealed on Twitter, has already hit ten million downloads. As of last year, the three other Angry Birds releases, which includes the main game and two releases that are more akin to an expansion pack than an actual sequel, surpassed over half a billion downloads.

Though Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio were additions to the franchise, they weren’t full on sequels, which is why Angry Birds Space has been deemed so important. The new game adds a new setting, the titular space, and new gameplay elements focused on the space theme, such as using gravity to sling birds. The birds also turn into costumed heroes in space, because that’s what happens when you go into space. You’ve never been, so don’t try to argue that.

The new game will set you back a measly $0.99 on iOS, though the price changes based on what platform you download the bird-suicide simulator.
