Season 2 of Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events Gets a Release Date in Nightmarish Teaser

Have you been waiting for more A Series of Unfortunate Events? After a first season that followed the dreadful, heart-breaking journeys of the Baudelaire children, they’re gearing up to suffer some more in a new teaser that includes a premiere date announcement. Neil Patrick Harris introduces the teaser as Count Olaf and it’s quite appropriate that the Netflix Youtube account decided to kick off the new year with the teaser. (I mean, they also celebrated it prior with a creepy Black Mirror video, so what did we expect?) Olaf says:

“I’m so sorry to disturb your recovery but it’s time for us to get this New Year’s Day binge started. Now there may be some of you who are surprised that Netflix would choose this to be the first face you see in 2018, but those are the same people who wouldn’t recognize handsome if it set your house on fire.”

The show returns March 30th with 10 new episodes adapting books five through nine of Lemony Snicket’s novels: The Austere Academy, The Ersatz Elevator, The Vile Village, The Hostile Hospital, and The Carnivorous Carnival. Actors appearing in this season are extremely promising, including Nathan Fillion, Tony Hale, Sara Rue, Lucy Punch, and Roger Bart. Maybe we’ll even get some more absurd featurettes, like when Netflix burned a cake designed like the Baudelaire Mansion.
