Woman says Delta kept her luggage hostage at JFK. Then a ‘hostile’ worker makes the situation worse: ‘She must be planning to quit’

A passenger called out Delta in a recent TikTok video, saying one worker she interacted with made her swear off the airline for good.
In her video, which has garnered over 360,100 views, content creator Justine (@justinescameraroll) recounts the many things that allegedly went wrong during a recent flight.
What Happened On This Delta Flight?
“There is a nasty woman working at Delta and for that I will not be flying them again,” Justine begins.
She says that three days earlier, her Delta flight was deplaned and canceled after four delays. At around 2 a.m., she and the other passengers went to baggage claim to figure out how they could get their bags.
According to Justine, most passengers were calm.
“These things happen, no big deal, nobody’s making a fuss,” she says.
Then she says she encountered a Delta worker at baggage claim who she describes as “malicious, obnoxious, and hostile.”
Justine says another passenger tried to ask where his bags were and whether he could get them. Before he could finish, she says, the worker cut him off.
“What is your question?” Justine recalls the worker asking.
Justine says the passenger remained polite. But according to her, the worker responded with something that stunned her.
“Your bag’s gonna follow you, so if you’re going to hell, your bag’s going there with you,” Justine recalls the worker saying.
She Says Passengers Were Left Without Answers
At that point, Justine says she realized that was not the person she wanted to speak to. She decided to make her way toward baggage service.
However, she says the situation got worse.
According to Justine, when another passenger asked for help getting their bags, the same worker allegedly told the group they were not getting their bags and would have to wait hours for someone else to come back.
Justine says there was a pregnant woman crying, and two older women in wheelchairs asking for a hotel. There were also parents with children trying to find out when they could get their luggage.
According to her, passengers were essentially told to “figure it out.”
Then, when another passenger asked for help again, Justine says the worker responded with “good luck.” She allegedly walked away and took her badge off.
“That doesn’t even touch the fact that it’s been three days I have not seen my bags,” Justine says.
Her Bag Was Still At JFK
Justine says she was repeatedly told her bag was on a plane or already in London. At one point, she says Delta told her the bag was at Heathrow, so she traveled an hour and a half there.
But the bag allegedly was not there.
“My most recent reply was they don’t know where the bag is despite the fact that there is a bag tag,” she says.
In the caption, Justine tagged Delta and said the airline was holding her bag “hostage.”
“ITS BEEN 3 DAYS,” she wrote. “IVE CALLED AND MESSAGED OVER 15 TIMES BEGGING TO GET IT PUT ON A FLIGHT AND DESPITE AGREEING, DESPITE @British Airways Holidays REQUESTING IT, DESPITE YOU TELLING ME ITD BE PUT ON TODAYS 8AM FLIGHT, ITS STILL AT JFK.”
Justine said she had more than two weeks of travel packed in the bag and wanted it before she had to leave London.
“And while you’re at it, that lady should be fired,” she added.
Commenters Were Appalled
In the comments, viewers were shocked by Justine’s story.
“They are particularly nasty at JFK,” one commenter wrote.
Another viewer found the worker’s phrasing bizarre.
“Why was hell the first option???” they asked.
Others thought the employee’s alleged behavior sounded like someone who was already done with the job.
“She must be planning to quit,” one commenter wrote.
In a follow-up video, she shared that she did pick up her bag in London a few days later, but not before she encountered more delays and an ID issue.
Other Delta Passengers Have Reported Similar Bag Confusion
In one r/Delta post from May 2026, a passenger said their gate-checked carry-on from JFK to LAX never showed as scanned onto the flight. After hours of calls, Delta allegedly found that the bag had somehow ended up with another airline.
“They were able to dig a little deeper and saw that a bag fitting my description and tag was boarded onto an American Airlines flight and is currently sitting at LAX,” the passenger wrote.
Another Delta passenger reported their bags going to Atlanta even though they themselves did not.
“I flew to this airport, but my bags flew to the Atlanta airport instead,” they wrote.
That passenger said Delta’s app sent them to the luggage claim counter after a delayed-bag notification, but the whole process left them shocked at “how broken the Delta software and process is regarding lost bags.”
Other travelers have also complained that Delta’s app alerts do not always match reality. One passenger said the app claimed their bag was unloaded in Atlanta, but the bag never appeared on the carousel.
