    We saw an excellent all-female production of Julius Caesar here in Portland. The audience quickly forgot they were seeing ‘women’ instead of ‘men’ and saw only characters. Their Marc Antony was one of the best tragic characters I’ve ever seen.

    One of my favorite theatrical experiences was seeing Cyrano. The lead was a woman with a very cute nose indeed, and no mask or false nose. Five minutes in, it didn’t matter, she was Cyrano. Good acting is magical.
