Tennessee Server Gets Fired After 2 HR Complaints. Then She Finds Out They Came From Her Mom: ‘You Are So Evil’

Working in the hospitality industry comes with a number of stressors. But one would expect that their one family wouldn’t be one of them. For one server, however, family ended up being a partial reason why she was terminated from her place of employment. 

Amber Medvecky (@ataylor414), a Tennessee server, was let go from her position after someone began filing complaints against her. The worst part? She discovered the person who filed said complaints to human resources was her own mother. 

Medvecky posted a video of herself—in tears—describing the situation. The video subsequently received more than 3.9 million views, with some commenters advising the server to cut all contact with her mother in the aftermath. 

How Did She Get Fired From Being A Server?

In Medvecky’s video, she told her audience she was starting her last shift at Iron Skillet, a Petro’s Signature Restaurant. 

The content creator said that weeks prior, she received two HR complaints. Then she revealed who filed them. 

“I’ve had a couple HR complaints in the last few weeks. I’ve never gotten an HR complaint in my life, ever,” she said. “Those two complaints came from my mother.”

Medvecky said her mother allegedly filed the complaints deliberately. 

“ Thank you. Thank you so much, Mom,” Medvecky said while crying. “Your two grandsons will be the only people to suffer from this, and you don’t care enough because you are so evil. Oh, you’re a monster.”

How Did Her Mother Have So Much Influence?

In later updates, Medvecky explained how her mother was able to influence her termination. 

“ Long story short, my mom used to work at this Petro. She knows a lot of people that work there,” she said. “ I’ve been posting on this TikTok and making posts from work for well over a year. She never had a problem with it until she started hanging out with my ex-husband and my sister’s ex that she has children with.”

Medvecky told her audience that she started to hold her mother accountable for her actions and how it affected their family. That led to interpersonal conflict between the two. 

“Her only get back to me was, ‘Oh, I’ll call HR,’” Medvecky said. According to her video, she was in violation of the employee handbook because of her TikTok account. That led to her termination, as her TikTok was exposed to higher-ups within the company.  

In other videos, Medvecky said her mother poisoned her relationship with her relatives. She also said her mother went to “talk [expletive]” about her on Facebook.

Viewers Know Her Mother

In the aftermath, Medvecky joked about creating a documentary about “Eldest Daughters of Narcissistic Mothers.” According to Medvecky, former employees who worked with her mother, “Violet,” had similar encounters. They allegedly directly messaged the content creator or even commented on her post to share their encounters.

One commenter on Medvecky’s original video said, “Omg is violet your mom she [moved] to Florida. In reddick Florida I worked with her if so I worked at Petro also.” Medvecky replied, “Yep that’s her!! Did she get fired from there?”

Other commenters advised, “Cut ALL communication with her. Block her on all social media platforms and change your number. I’m so sorry this happened to you.”

Then, another commenter inquired about helping Medvecky. “I own a fractional HR consulting firm, I would love to talk to you about what exactly happened, maybe I can help you,” they said. Medvecky said she would directly message the commenter. 

It’s unclear what happened in the aftermath of Medvecky’s viral video. But the TikToker has said she feels validated by those who shared that they had similar experiences with her mother.
