Newt Scamander and Albus Dumbledore Have a Chat

"It's good to see you, Professor Dumbledore. Sorry that I asked you here to help hunt down your old boyfriend."

Clear eyes! Full mustaches! Can't lose!

I am so hype for True Detective to come back on June 21st, but there are objectively too many mustaches in this first trailer for the new season (100% more mustaches than lines of dialogue!). On the plus side: Yay Rachel McAdams as a female character that doesn't seem likely to be killed in the pilot!

Today in Boobs

One thing on the minds of Total Recall fans when they first heard about the Len Wiseman reboot was, "Is there going to be a three-breasted woman?" I'll admit, I was curious myself as to whether or not they would include that unusual detail from the original but we found out the answer was yes. Then the marketing geniuses behind the Colin Farrell-starring feature decided to bring her to Comic-Con International in San Diego and actress Kaitlyn Leeb got more than she bargained for. Fans thought her tripple-breasted prosthetic was real. Picture of Ms. Leeb after the jump.

Fright Night Slays Us Madly While Paying Homage to the Original

Review

Well, this is a pretty decent example of how to do a remake. Take the basic concept, switch a few things around to raise the emotional stakes, add some gory bells and whistles, and show some respect for the original. Yup. If Fright Night was a vampire, you'd definitely be seduced enough to let it gnaw on your neck. The slightest possible spoilers after the jump.

Fright Night: A Look Back At the Original

Bloody Good Fun

Ahead of seeing the Fright Night remake, which opened this weekend, I gave the 1985 film another look and came to this conclusion: not only does it hold up, but it is ripe for a remake. In a good way. A horror comedy about vampires is not a bad idea for a movie right now, and Fright Night provides just that kind of story. And even while zombies are having a moment, isn't it about time we saw a genuinely predatory -- but good-natured -- vampire? Sharpen your wooden stakes, everyone -- let's go back to 1985. (Obviously, spoilers from the original are included, so consider yourself warned.)
