‘So emotionally unintelligent’: Trump Aims at CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, but Her Response is Taking the Internet by Storm

Getting even

In his second term as President of the United States, Donald Trump has built a reputation for being disrespectful toward journalists. If you closely observe press conferences, it seems that journalists are almost already prepared to be belittled by Trump while asking questions on certain topics.

Currently, a video is circulating on social media, especially on X (formerly Twitter), showing Donald Trump attacking a CNN journalist and the channel’s chief White House correspondent, Kaitlan Collins, while voicing his support for the anti-weaponization fund. This isn’t the first time he’s targeted her. He has done so on multiple occasions. So, when he tried to attack her again, she responded with an immediate rebuttal that many people on the internet found snarky and clever.

The internet is praising Kaitlan Collins for standing up to Trump

CNN’s Kaitlan Collins has faced her fair share of scrutiny from Donald Trump while trying to question him on important issues. One of the most common comments Collins receives during Trump’s questioning is that she is not smiling, which many people find to be an absurd and misogynistic demand, considering men are never expected to smile.

This criticism of Trump’s treatment of female journalists has been very public, and yet he seems indifferent to it, making a similar remark about Collins during a recent press conference. However, it’s not his “smile” comment about Collins that’s attracting the most attention on X, but rather another interaction between Trump and Collins that has gone viral. In this case, while showing support for the anti-weaponization fund, Trump tells Collins she should be ashamed of herself and then claims she used to be a “conservative from Alabama.” In response, Collins simply says, “I’m still from Alabama.

Todd Blanche confirms retraction of the “Anti-Weaponization Fund”

In an article published by ABC News on June 3, 2026, it was noted that acting Attorney General Todde Blanche, on Tuesday, while testifying before a House subcommittee, confirmed that Trump and members of his administration are no longer pursuing their demands to establish a $1.8 billion “Anti-Weaponization Fund” to benefit those who had been “wronged by the Biden administration.”

Speaking during an interaction with Representative Grace Meng during his House subcommittee hearing, Blanche said, “Look, we’re not moving forward with the fund. The reasons for the fund are something that President Trump talked about for a long time, which is the fact that there were a lot of people in this country who had their government weaponized against them. The reasons for the fund, I think, are…remain as important as they were before, but we are not moving forward with the fund.”
