Reality TV Star Swims Topless Beside Her Dad During a Family Yacht Trip in Italy. The Internet Says: ‘That’s Where I Draw the Line’

Strange family dynamics?

Reality TV star Brooks Nader just turned a family yacht trip in Italy into the internet’s latest viral debate. The Baywatch reboot star was spotted swimming topless beside her dad, Breaux Nader, while her mom and sister looked on, and now everyone has an opinion about where the line should be drawn.

According to Fox News, Nader, who rose to fame as a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model after winning the publication’s 2019 Swim Search, has never been one to shy away from the spotlight. This time, though, the attention didn’t have to do with her career moves. It was more about whether a grown woman swimming topless in front of her father is a bold embrace of European beach culture or a boundary-pushing moment that crosses into uncomfortable territory.

The scene unfolded during a sun-soaked Sardinian getaway. While her mom, Holland, and sister, Sarah Jane, kept their swimsuits on, Nader opted for a topless swim right beside her dad. Supporters pointed out that topless sunbathing is common in Europe. One social media user wrote, “She’s in Europe, relax.” Another said, “Americans in comments SHOOK that women have parts of their body they don’t need to hide or feel shame about having.”

Not everyone was on board with the family beach-day reveal

Critics argued that cultural norms shouldn’t override personal comfort, especially when family is involved. “Everybody claiming this is normal because they’re in Europe… they’re from Louisiana,” one Instagram user wrote. Another chimed in, “Sorry, but there’s a time and place for nudity, and imo it’s not with your family.” One particularly blunt commenter said, “Call me uncultured, but swimming topless with my dad is one European tradition I’m comfortable skipping.”

The debate continued after a video reacting to the photos circulated online. The clip, which has since gone viral, features TikTok creator Kenzie Reinhart saying, “Listen, I love Brooks Nader, and I understand she’s a little wild and out there, but swimming topless with her dad, that’s where I draw the line.”

Reinhart added, “She has her top off, and she is just letting them hang out. If you’re on your vacation and you’re with your friends or your man, absolutely free it. But when you’re with your dad… and you’re up close and personal swimming with your dad, that’s a little weird. I understand some families might have different dynamics and comfort levels, but it’s very odd when you are in this type of situation when you have the option to wear the top.”

Nader’s decision to go topless isn’t entirely out of character

The model and reality TV star has built a brand around being unapologetically herself, whether she’s gracing the cover of Sports Illustrated or competing on Dancing with the Stars. She also stars alongside her three younger sisters – Mary Holland, Grace Ann, and Sarah Jane – in the Hulu reality series Love Thy Nader, which offers a glimpse into their close-knit, often chaotic family dynamic.

The show has only amplified her public persona, making moments like this one feel like an extension of her on-screen antics. Her dad, Breaux Nader, has been a steady presence in her life, even if he wasn’t always on board with her career choices at first. According to InStyle, Breaux, a senior financial advisor at Longbridge Wealth Management in Louisiana, initially hesitated when Brooks dropped out of Tulane University to pursue modeling.

“They said, ‘This is the dumbest thing you could ever do,’” she recalled of the conversation with her parents. But over time, Breaux’s skepticism turned into unwavering support. When Brooks landed her role in the upcoming Baywatch reboot, he took to Instagram to celebrate, writing, “Congrats Brooksie! This is HUGE!” He’s also been vocal about his pride in his other daughters’ achievements, like when Sarah Jane scored her first billboard campaign.

The Nader family’s vacations often make headlines

This latest trip to Sardinia is no exception. The family, who hails from the small town of Maringouin, Louisiana, has a history of blending Southern roots with big-city ambitions. Brooks and her sisters now live together in a Soho apartment in New York City, but Breaux and Holland still call Louisiana home. Despite the distance, the family makes time to vacation together, and Breaux’s Instagram is filled with snapshots of their adventures.

Breaux’s support for his daughters extends beyond career milestones. When Brooks went through a tough breakup with Dancing with the Stars pro Gleb Savchenko, her dad was there with a plate of “Papa eggs” – a family tradition in honor of his own father. “They go, ‘Dad, come to brunch.’ And he goes, ‘No, what if she wakes up and I’m not here and she’s all alone?’” Brooks recounted.

“I did wake up, actually, everyone was gone, and my dad is in the kitchen, and he had made the Papa eggs, and goes, ‘Here’s your breakfast.’ I have a photo of him with the plate, and I cried.”

Brooks is no stranger to controversy

This can be said whether it’s her reality TV antics or her unfiltered approach to social media. But this latest incident raises questions about how much of her behavior is calculated for attention versus genuine self-expression. Is she leaning into European norms to normalize body confidence, or is she deliberately courting controversy to keep herself in the spotlight? Either way, her next moves will be closely watched.

It would seem like the Nader family isn’t afraid to blur the lines between public and private. Breaux’s easygoing demeanor and unwavering support suggest he’s unfazed by the attention, even if it means his daughter’s topless swims become the latest internet obsession. Whether you see it as a bold statement or a step too far, Brooks Nader has once again ensured that all eyes are on her, and her family.
