Have you seen Lupita Nyong’o’s amazing light up dress? Her style has always been gorgeous and stunning but this dress is especially cool because, according to People, her dress was designed by Zac Posen in collaboration with Google as part of Google’s Made With Code program, which encourages young girls to learn coding. Their website also has an online exercise where you can design a LED bulb circuit for your own dress (which I will wear in my dreams).

The circuit for Nyong’o’s dress was designed by 22 year old Maddy Maxey, who said seeing it was “deeply rewarding.” Nyong’o wore the dress to the Star Wars: Force 4 Fashion event in NYC. The outfits wore by Nyong’o and the other actresses will auctioned off by Bloomingdale’s and proceeds will go to the Child Mind Institution, which focuses on “transforming mental health care for the world’s children.” She also wore it on The Daily Show and talked about her fashion choice, Star Wars, and Eclipsed with Trevor Noah.

I think I might have been attracted to it because of my experience on Star Wars. It’s about encouraging girls to try computer science by showing them how it merges with fashion, how it can.

You light up my world, Lupita. What do you think about Lupita Nyong’o’s light-up dress?
