Kash Patel Loses ‘Googly-Eyed’ Federal Lawsuit Against Blogger
Kash Patel has lost a lawsuit against a blogger who called him “googly-eyed.”
The FBI director was seeking $10 million in arbitration from blogger Jim Stewartson due to perceived insults. Now, as per The New Republic, Nevada Chief District Judge Andrew Gordon has dismissed the lawsuit on the grounds that the California-based blogger doesn’t fall under Patel’s “personal jurisdiction”. The judge ruled:
“Stewartson did not accuse Patel of conducting any of his activities in Nevada, nor did he purposefully target a Nevada audience when he posted about them, despite tagging Patel himself, who happened to be a Nevada resident. Simply, Nevada was not the “focal point” of Stewartson’s allegedly defamatory posts.”
In 2023, Stewartson called Patel a “Kremlin asset”, alleged that the current FBI director plotted to “overthrow the government” on January 6, called Patel a “blatantly incompetent chud” and a “googly-eyed Kremlin b—h”.
Stewartson initially didn’t respond to the lawsuit, and last year Patel was awarded a $250,000 default judgement, which the blogger has now overturned.
Stewartson celebrated the decision:
“BREAKING: A Nevada federal judge has granted my Motion to Dismiss in the case of @Kash_Patel vs. Jim Stewartson. I’d like to commend the judge for including “googly-eyed Kremlin b*****” in his ruling. Thanks to all for your support.”
The FBI director sues The Atlantic
Patel is also suing The Atlantic for $250 million because of an expose of his personal life that made allegations of alcohol abuse. The Atlantic has requested the judge throw the case out. In response, the FBI said, “The Atlantic spends its days propagating false narratives because it has zero interest in any form of real journalism. It adds no value to society except as the leading slop rag of the day.”
They continued:
“Meanwhile, this FBI and the Trump administration are delivering historic wins every day—including capturing our fourth Most Wanted fraudster in just five weeks, responsible for a combined $1.5 billion in fraud; leading scam center takedowns totaling $15 billion this year; and driving violent crime to historic lows across the country, including being on track for a second straight year of record-low homicides,” they continue. “We’ve also achieved a record number of children found and identified, seized enough fentanyl to kill 225 million Americans, increased espionage arrests by 50%, and locked up more than 5,000 child predators since we’ve been at the helm.”
That lawsuit is still pending.
