Jimmy Kimmel responds to White House spokesperson Davis Ingle saying he has beclowned himself: ‘…bad day for you to call me a loser’

A good morning for late-night.

Jimmy Kimmel fired back at the White House on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, after spokesperson Davis Ingle labeled him a ‘no-talent loser’. The late-night host used his monologue on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to address the insult, which followed a wave of Democratic victories in the midterm elections.

According to Reality Tea, Kimmel took aim at the spokesperson by intentionally misnaming him ‘Danny Dingle’. He told the audience that it seemed like a bad day for Ingle to call him a loser given the current political climate. Kimmel made sure to highlight that this was not the first time the White House had targeted him with such language.

The late-night host noted that the Donald Trump administration had issued almost the same statement two times in the past year. Kimmel joked about receiving a third ‘beclowned’ designation, which he viewed as some type of a final warning. The host seemed to relish the back-and-forth, effectively turning the official criticism into a centerpiece of his segment.

Kimmel celebrated the midterm results

The tension between the show and the White House reached a new peak following the midterm results. Democrats managed to secure control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate. The party also flipped governorships in Texas, Ohio, Iowa, and Georgia. Kimmel celebrated these results as a blue wave during his show. He spent a significant portion of his time dissecting the reaction from the President.

Donald Trump claimed that Republicans would have performed better if he had been on the ballot personally. Kimmel did not hold back when reacting to that specific defense. He said, “That is such crap. You were on the ballot. You’re like dog hair; you’re on everything. You’ve infected every nook and cranny of our lives.” He also accused the leader of dividing the country more than anyone else in history.

Kimmel suggested that the only moment of national unity occurred when voters teamed up to remove the President from power. He further mocked Trump for his shifting political allegiances over the years. Kimmel stated that the man has no allegiance to anyone or anything. He quipped that the only party the President actually leads is the “slumber party.”

Kimmel eventually asked Trump to step down from office

He urged the President to quit the position immediately. According to Variety, Kimmel said, “The verdict is in, and there’s only one thing left for Nappy Gilmore to do: Resign. Quit already, just quit. Nobody wants you. Even you don’t want to be president anymore. Take that billion dollars worth of crypto, buy an island. Maybe Epstein’s island? Wouldn’t that be a perfect end to this story!”

The White House statement, which sparked the retaliation from Kimmel, was issued on the eve of the elections. The statement from spokesperson Danny Ingle was quite harsh in its tone. Ingle said, “Jimmy Kimmel is a no-talent loser who has beclowned himself with tanking ratings and by spewing disgusting lies to his dwindling audience. He is so devoid of actual talent that nobody with any common sense would ever watch him unless it was to laugh at him.”

Kimmel pointed out that being laughed at is actually the point of his show. He seemed to find the repetition of the insult amusing rather than hurtful. The exchange highlights the often contentious relationship between late-night television and the current administration.

The host has consistently used his platform to critique the President

The White House has responded by attacking the host personally and questioning the viability of his show. This cycle of insults appears to be a regular feature of the current political discourse. Kimmel shows no signs of backing down from these confrontations. He seems to enjoy the role of a political gadfly.

The midterm results clearly provided Kimmel with fresh material for his commentary. The loss of both chambers of Congress serves as a major setback for the Republican party. Kimmel framing the results as a collective rejection of the President reflects the broader narrative currently pushed by Democratic victors.
