Her daughter’s umbilical cord was cut with dirty scissors. Two weeks later, she had to pay for her child’s autopsy
Three years have already passed, but she still hasn't healed from the incident.

A woman (@thaqibmomma23) told TikTok about the grief of losing her newborn daughter. The mother alleged that in 2023, the hospital where she gave birth to her daughter was responsible for her infant’s death.
“Now it’s 2026, and this is how I have to look at my daughter,” she told TikTok, showing the camera a small green urn. She named her daughter Alori Jhene and got tattoos dedicated to her. When she went to the hospital, she claimed that she was already 41 weeks in. She was over her due date, and after thirteen hours into labor, she decided to get an epidural.
However, she alleged that when she got her epidural, the anaesthesiologist missed the vein on her back. Furthermore, she believed the epidural “failed,” so she still felt the pain of labor.
“Later on, we ended up having complications, so I had to go in for an emergency C-Section,” the mother said. She also confirmed that her child’s father was in the room with her, and after the successful birth, he was the one to cut Alori’s umbilical cord. The mother claimed she was asleep at the time because she had just had a C-Section.
Her newborn was still sent home
Her daughter was placed in a room with the rest of her family members. Meanwhile, the mother had to stay in recovery. When the nurse wheeled her back into the room, she noticed her daughter’s grandmother looking upset. “She said the nurses messed up and I had to watch my daughter,” the mother said. She explained that after her child’s father cut her umbilical cord, it was still too long to clamp. The nurses allegedly cut it again, with the child’s grandmother present.
The mother alleged that the nurse told the grandmother, the child’s father, and the rest of her family members that she had used dirty scissors to cut the baby’s umbilical cord.
“So, I’m asking the doctors and nurses about it, but they told me my daughter will be fine, as they gave her antibiotics to prevent any infection or for her going septic,” the mother alleged. Accidents can happen to newborns and mothers. Even this woman, who was prepared, still had her child prematurely, while she had to go back to work, still bleeding. After staying three days in the hospital, she claimed that she was sent home with her infant. The mother woke up to breastfeed her newborn as usual but felt something was wrong.
Two weeks later, her daughter was gone
“Now, my daughter never cried, and I mean, never. And I would have to wake her up every two hours to feed her,” the mother alleged. She claimed her daughter only ate, slept, and looked around but wasn’t as loud as other infants. Two weeks after giving birth, she woke at 6:00 a.m. to feed her daughter. The mother tried waking her daughter up, but the newborn was unresponsive.
“She was cold to the touch, and she was changing colors,” the mother recalled. She screamed, waking everyone in the house. The mother said her child’s father was CPR-certified. They tried doing CPR and locating a pulse, but there was none. Police and an ambulance arrived at their residence. Although emergency services came and tried to do CPR, they still ended up declaring her newborn dead on arrival. She cried, and the mother claimed that even the police cried with the family.
Did she sue?
The mother, traumatized by the ordeal, wouldn’t let her daughter go. Some mothers feel guilty for things they weren’t responsible for, as is the case with this mom, who regretted using a Baby Brezza on her infant. But in this mother’s case, it was too late, and emergency services took the mother with her dead child strapped to her chest. When they reached the hospital, the mother said her family members had to pry her child off her arms to take her away.
The mother agreed to pay for an autopsy, and they made arrangements to lay her daughter to rest. She continued, “When the autopsy came back, it said she passed away due to natural causes—that the natural causes was she had went septic due to an infection in her belly button.” The mother kept the autopsy result and said she tried to sue the hospital. She claimed the hospital didn’t send her daughter home with antibiotics and only administered medication while they were staying there.
“Now, after I got the lawyer and tried to sue the hospital, they told me I couldn’t, that I didn’t have a case because the nurses and doctors ‘forgot’ to put that they cut her umbilical cord with dirty scissors in the doctor notes,” the mother alleged. She couldn’t believe that she didn’t have a case, even though she said her family members were in the room when the nurse allegedly confessed to using dirty scissors. Although three years had already passed, the mother still says she wants justice for her daughter.
