I feel perfectly fine lightly joshing Harrison Ford for choosing to appear in The Expendables 3, because I am one thousand percent sure that he couldn’t care less about what I or anybody else thinks about his career choices. He’s Grumpy God Harrison Ford. We’re all plebes next to him. As it should be.

The third movie in the Expendables trilogy is coming out next summer, and Bruce Willis was supposed to star, but he stepped out. So Indiana J— Han So— Harrison. “The Man.” Ford. is replacing him as (presumably) a macho, gruff dude who’ll shoot a lot of people.

Star Sylvester Stallone announced the news via Twitter with the following eloquent missive:

WILLIS OUT… HARRISON FORD IN !!!! GREAT NEWS !!!!! Been waiting years for this!!!!

Followed by a Tweet presumably directed at Willis:

GREEDY AND LAZY …… A SURE FORMULA FOR CAREER FAILURE

In addition to Ford, other newbies to the ’80s action throwback franchise will include Milla Jovovich, Nicolas Cage, and MMA champion “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey.

But what about the long-awaited/dreaded Indiana Jones 5? Ford appears to be the only person looking forward to the movie, at least judging by a recent interview with The Telegraph. And he even has some ideas about how the movie can approach its older-than-he-used-to-be hero:

“We’ve seen the character develop and grow over a period of time and it’s perfectly appropriate and okay for him to come back again with a great movie around him where he doesn’t necessarily have to kick as much ass. To me, what was interesting about the character was that he prevailed, that he had courage, that he had wit, that he had intelligence, that he was frightened and that he still managed to survive. That I can do.”

Of that I have no doubt, Mr. Ford. Keep goin’ on with your awesome self. You are forever in my heart.
