Florida woman went on a date with her Olive Garden waiter. She escaped with her friend from DoorDash
She had to plot an escape.
Aaliyah Jamese (@theaaliyahjamese) from Florida was just 19 when her cousins egged her on to an Olive Garden waiter she found cute. But when they went on a date, Jamese said she ended up asking a friend who was working her DoorDash shift for help.
“I’m gonna tell you a storytime about how I almost got kidnapped because my cousins thought it was fun to ‘put me on’ with someone who was our waitress for the night,” Jamese told TikTok. The waiter was working for another table at Olive Garden when her cousins called him over, thinking he was handsome. Jamese agreed, and then her cousins started teasing her about him.
The waiter ended up serving their table, then asking for Jamese’s number. Although she said she wasn’t trying to date anyone, Jamese felt pushed toward the man because of her cousins’ jokes.
“Literally in that moment, I should’ve trusted my gut,” she said. Jamese and the man started talking through text, and then she stopped hearing from him after a while. Although Jamese’s situation seemed innocent enough, even this woman’s supposed meet-cute went terribly wrong after one message. Two months later, Jamese said the man reached out to her again through text.
He asked her to grab something to eat with him at nine in the evening. Jamese is a hairstylist, and she was getting off work late. Because she was tired and hungry, she agreed to go on a date without a second thought. She suggested a local food place that stayed open until two in the morning. When she parked, Jamese immediately noticed he was already by her car door.
“How did you know I was here? I didn’t even text him yet,” Jamese recalled. From the start, she felt something was off about the man.

The man told Jamese they couldn’t eat at the restaurant she suggested because his ex works there. She commented, “In my head, I’m a very strong woman. That got nothing to do with me.” But since Jamese had just gotten off work and it was getting late, she agreed to the man’s proposal. She left her car and went on a ride in his.
When he asked her if she wanted to play music, she noticed that his search history was wiped. This raised another red flag for Jamese, but she stayed on the ride. Just as they were about to reach the restaurant, the man’s car kept driving. They reached I-Drive and then ended up in a parking garage.
“At this point, my instincts are kicking in because I feel like I’m in the middle of a documentary in the making,” Jamese said. She didn’t know why they ended up in Orlando, but Jamese started feeling uncomfortable. They kept jumping from one location to another, with Jamese pointing out that when he pinned one, the GPS kept rerouting.
Feeling unsafe, Jamese asked the man to take a photo of her by a blue gate at one of their stops. She also took a photo of a business sign nearby and sent the photos to her sister. Jamese wanted to leave a trace for detectives in case she didn’t make it home.
Escaping McDonald’s with a friend from DoorDash
Eventually, they settled on McDonald’s at I-Drive. Jamese left her car keys in the man’s car so she would have an excuse to go out later. They dined at McDonald’s, and Jamese stalled their departure. She had already informed her best friend and family about feeling unsafe with her date, so she tried buying them time to pick her up.
While praying, desperate for a way out, Jamese opened her eyes to an old client and friend she hadn’t serviced in two years. Jamese reached out to her friend and told her how uncomfortable she felt about her date. However, her friend said she was on a DoorDash shift and could lose her job if she didn’t deliver her order. Nevertheless, she agreed to come back for Jamese five minutes after dropping her DoorDash order.
Jamese went back to her date and started eating. Her friend would later text her, and Jamese planned her escape. She went back to the car with her date and grabbed her keys. Then, she excused herself, saying she needed to go back to the restroom. Jamese used that as an excuse, with her DoorDash friend waiting for her on the opposite side. As Jamese fled for her friend’s car, she saw the man running from the other side, chasing her.
Thankfully, Jamese was unscathed from that night. Meanwhile, another woman barely escaped after a group of men stalked her hotel room door.
