California Woman Was Going on a Date With a Man She Met Three Times. Then a Conversation With Friends About Her Hinge Profile Made Her Block Him

Cydney Jordan (@cydneyjordan) from California met a man at a beach. After bumping into him a couple more times, she finally agreed to go on a date with him. But after he sent her a dubious message involving her Hinge profile, Jordan decided to ditch him at the last minute.
Jordan recalled that when she met the man, he was being nice and respectful towards her. She had been alone for several hours, and the man told her he just wanted to come over and invite her to a game with his friends. “We could totally tag you in,” he offered. However, Jordan politely refused because she was about to head out. Instead of walking away, Jordan claimed the man just stood there, then confessed.
“Honestly, I did come over here because I think you’re really pretty. Do you think I can get your number?” the man supposedly asked. Jordan returned the compliment, thinking the man was cute. Nevertheless, she refused the request for her number because she wasn’t interested in dating at that time. The man didn’t push her, much to Jordan’s relief.
“Maybe I’ll see you around,” the man suggested. A couple of months passed, and then Jordan said she ran into the man by the post office. He was running out of a nearby store, and she was heading into the post office. They briefly made eye contact, and then the man greeted her. But since they were in a rush, nothing came of the interaction.
A good story in the making
But with how often Jordan and the man kept bumping into one another, it’s starting to look like a rom-com on par with this woman’s meet-cute with her neighbor. She said that six or seven months after their last meeting, Jordan saw him at the grocery store. He did a double take and supposedly said, “Cydney from the beach, right?”
She nodded and added, “Yes, and from the post office.” After their unlikely meetings, the man mustered up the courage to ask for Jordan’s number again. He allegedly asked, “Do you think I can get your number this time?” Jordan agreed, and the man did a mini-celebration for getting her contact information.
But Jordan said she didn’t hear from the man until the end of July. Finally, he asked her when it would be a good time for her to go hang out with him. He invited her to his brother’s house for Labor Day weekend, but Jordan refused. Instead, she proposed dinner with him in the area, and he agreed. The man started planning their date and asked her about her dietary preferences and allergies. He was thorough and picked out a restaurant. Jordan received the reservation, and she looked forward to their date.
A text about Hinge
They were having normal conversations until one night, when she received a text from the man at 12:30 in the morning. Jordan later read it and recognized it as a screenshot of a conversation between the man and his friend. She saw that the screenshot included her Hinge profile, and the friend asked whether anything had happened between Jordan and the man.
The friend allegedly replied, “Well then, I’mma shoot my shot on Hinge, lol.” Jordan didn’t understand why she’d been sent the messages but fell asleep after. When she checked the messages again in the morning, Jordan saw her date’s reply to the friend.
He allegedly said, “Go for it, bro. Maybe we can tag team her.” Jordan was disgusted by the man’s alleged reply and decided to block him. She said, “So, no, you actually cannot tag team me. That was never an option.” It seems Jordan got the short end of the bargain, unlike this woman, whose boyfriend went viral for making her a handcrafted bookmark.
