Texas woman showed the aftermath of a gender reveal at her apartment complex. Everything was dusted pink: ‘If you did it, you should clean it up’
The party didn't clean get to clean all of the pink dust.

Heather (@heatherann0204) from Dallas, Texas, shared the aftermath of a gender reveal in her apartment complex on TikTok. She alleged that pink powder from the event even hit her balcony.
“Let’s do a tour of the gender reveal that got powder all over our apartment complex,” Heather told TikTok. She was in a shared outdoor space by the pool, with a few trees, gravel, and apartment balconies. Heather panned the camera to the stone steps near the pool, dusted with pink powder. She said the participants had already wiped the pink powder off the railing but failed to remove the pink dust from the concrete floor and stairs.
Pink dust covered the chairs. The gravel ground on the side was also stained pink and wasn’t cleaned. Some neighbors’ balconies were covered with dust, while others had their furniture, like lawn chairs, covered in pink. Heather said the grill was also covered in pink, but the party cleaned most of the dust.
A shared space nightmare
But Heather’s balcony took one of the biggest hits from the gender reveal. Pink dust covered her two chairs and her plants. Some of the plants were covered in so much pink dust that it looked like their natural color. “My rosemary? I can’t even eat this anymore,” Heather said. Aside from her rosemary, even her lemon tree was also covered in pink.
She showed her neighbor’s patio, and the floors looked just as Barbie pink. Even the pool area wasn’t spared from the pink powder. Heather saw pink residue on the shared lawn chairs and on the floor. She assumed that even though it wasn’t visible, the pool must have pink dye, too. Heather said she could also see pink in the floor cracks where the grout sits.
Heather called the event “inconsiderate” and said she had spent over 30 minutes trying to clean before she got frustrated with the pink powder. “If you did it, you should clean it up,” Heather said. Heather believes it’s unfair for neighbors to spend hours cleaning up after another neighbor’s mess, a frustration shared by a woman whose neighbor cut down trees on her property. Regardless, Heather encouraged others to do gender reveals on their own property rather than in shared spaces.
She isn’t done cleaning up after the gender reveal
In a follow-up video, Heather recorded herself wiping pink dust off her plants. Heather said her apartment complex also reassured her twice that they would send someone to clean up the dust first thing in the morning. Although she got up at 8:00 a.m., Heather said that at the time of recording it was already 5:30 p.m., and they still hadn’t cleaned up the pink dust. Although corporate also promised to send someone to clean in the evening or the next day, Heather started wiping the pink dust off her leaves anyway.
“These plants are my babies. They did cost of me a lot of money,” Heather said. She added that some of her plants have been with her for years. Heather explained that she needed to remove the pink powder because her plants will not photosynthesize enough to make food. The dust isn’t easy to clean either because, as she explained, when it comes into contact with water, it turns into paste. She couldn’t clean it with a leaf blower either and had to wipe it all off with a wet towel.
When Heather showed the white cleaning towel she used on her plants, it had turned a shade of dark pink. At the very end, Heather was able to clean and shower all her plants. But this wasn’t the first time a gender reveal event had gotten messy; only in this woman’s case, her friend’s gender reveal party ended their friendship.
