DoorDash driver demands a tip after driving 40 minutes, then eats the customer’s entire order when she refuses: ‘Can’t be serious’

Ordering food through DoorDash should mean getting what you paid for, whether you leave a tip or not. But one customer was left stunned when her delivery driver demanded extra money and admitted to eating her order.
Tipping disputes between customers and delivery drivers are nothing new. Even leaving a 20% tip doesn’t always prevent arguments. But eating someone’s food over a missing tip takes things to another level.
In a TikTok video shared by AshleyTvShow (@ashleytvshow), which has received over 60,800 views, a DoorDash driver confronts a customer after driving 40 minutes to deliver her order. The driver wants a cash tip, but when the customer refuses, she makes a shocking admission.
That wasn’t the response she expected
The video begins with the driver arriving at the customer’s door. Before handing over the order, she asks for the four-digit PIN required to complete the delivery.
The customer provides the code, but the conversation quickly shifts away from the food. The driver points out that the DoorDash app shows no tip on the order. “And on the app, it shows that you didn’t tip,” the driver tells her.
The customer acknowledges this, prompting the driver to ask, “I know. You got cash, right?” When the customer explains that she has no cash, the driver becomes frustrated. She brings up the distance she traveled, apparently expecting some compensation for the lengthy trip.
“What do you mean? I just drove 40 minutes to get there,” she responds. However, the customer doesn’t change her answer. Instead, she ends the conversation with a simple “Have a good day.”
That’s when the confrontation takes an unexpected turn. “That’s why I ate your shit. Cause I knew you was a bum,” the driver fires back.
The customer can hardly believe what she has heard. Rather than simply complaining about the missing tip, the driver has apparently admitted to eating the food before completing the delivery.
“A bum? He ate my food, bro. What?” the customer responds in disbelief.
She then looks through what remains of her order and notices that her ice cream is also missing. “Doordash cannot be serious, bro,” she complains. “She ate my food, bro.”
The customer continues checking the delivery, repeating that the situation is unbelievable. “This can’t be serious, dude,” she says. Interestingly, the driver’s admission suggests she had already eaten the food before asking whether the customer had cash. That detail left viewers questioning why she bothered asking for a tip at the door.
“The dasher’s 100% wrong for eating other people’s food,” one commenter wrote. Another pointed out the contradiction in the driver’s explanation: “She ate the food before she got there, she didn’t even wait to see if she had cash!”
Others urged the customer to report the incident. “Oh I would be reporting her and getting my money back,” one viewer commented.
However, not everyone sympathized with the customer. Some argued that delivery workers depend on tips and shouldn’t have to make long trips without receiving anything extra.
“if person can not Tip needs to stop ordering food,” one person wrote. Another defended the driver, commenting, “At least she’s full.”
A few viewers questioned whether the confrontation was genuine, with one writing, “Guys it’s so obviously staged.”
From unusual requests involving money to missing food, DoorDash deliveries can bring unwanted surprises. Whether the customer reported the driver or received a refund remains unclear. But paying for a meal only to find someone else has eaten it is hardly the service anyone expects.
