She had a medical appointment with a doctor from Georgia. Then, she overheard him laughing about her inability to pee: ‘I will not be back’
A patient's nightmare.

Lia (@lia.living) had a physical exam at a clinic in Suwanee, Georgia. What was supposed to be a quick visit ended in tears after she allegedly overheard the nurse and the doctor laughing at her.
“He was discussing with the nurse the fact that I could not urinate during this appointment, and I drank a whole bottle of water while I was there,” Lia told TikTok. She recalled the story in her car and was upset about the experience.
She continued, “And even during the appointment, he was very dismissive of me, shrugged off my opinions—discriminatory.” Lia said she didn’t want to post about it online. However, she wanted to warn people against going to the clinic.
“I will not be back,” Lia repeatedly said. She alleged that at the end of the conversation, the nurse and the doctor were laughing at her plight. Lia claimed that she didn’t do drugs, said she listened to the doctor’s opinion, and followed their instructions. Still, she had an unsatisfactory experience at the clinic, like this man who was almost refused a CT scan for arriving two minutes late.
Confronting the doctor over the inappropriate conversation
Lia also attached a clip of her interaction with the doctor. Lia entered the reception area, and the doctor was leaning against the front desk. The nurse sat behind it and was talking with the doctor.
“Are you talking about me?” Lia asked the doctor, who was chatting with the nurse in the stitched clip. The doctor immediately denied the allegation, but Lia followed up, “It’s funny because I can’t give you seven drops of urine?” When she recalled the alleged conversation, the doctor approached her and denied it even more. Lia told him not to touch her and kept her distance.
“You were, very matter of fact, in that office; you didn’t even say your name; you didn’t introduce yourself; you didn’t even know if I had blood drawn. You were questioning whether or not I knew my diagnosis, and you were very dismissive of me,” Lia alleged. The doctor slumped but still denied Lia’s accusation. Lia said she was dehydrated and on her menstrual cycle, making it more difficult for her to produce urine.
“It gives very racist and discriminatory. So, do not run up on me, do not touch me, and I will not be back at this office. I was made very uncomfortable,” Lia said. She was not the only Black woman this week who felt dismissed by medical professionals. A Black pharmacist said that hospital staff let her pee on herself and ignored her even as she was having chest pain.
No reconciliation
Lia gave the doctor a chance to speak for himself. He replied, “I’m sorry.” After that, Lia claimed that she was also a doctor and said she was constantly around medical professionals. Nevertheless, the doctor justified it by saying he was talking to his nurse. However, when Lia asked him to clarify what they were talking about, he was mum about it.
“I already recorded it, so I know exactly what you said. ‘I’ve never heard of that. I’ve never heard of anyone not being able to give seven drops of urine.’ Why in the world would you talk about your patients that way?” Lia alleged. Despite being confronted by Lia, the doctor did not admit to saying any of it to Lia. The doctor tried to apologize again, but Lia insisted he should be specifically sorry for allegedly speaking disrespectfully about his clients.
After that, Lia panned the camera to the nurse. “You should do better as well, talking about clients as well. It’s very unprofessional; it’s very disorganized in here,” Lia continued. As she walked out, she reiterated that she wouldn’t be returning and that she is also a doctor.
