She paid $130 to book a North Carolina hair stylist for her birthday. Then, their agreement fell through: ‘Today, I’m choosing violence’
She asked for a refund and still hasn't gotten it.

Jazz (@artistfrombearth) booked a hair stylist from Charlotte, North Carolina, for her birthday. She paid more than a hundred dollars as a down payment for hair bundles. But when their agreement fell through, the stylist allegedly failed to refund her.
“She told me I would have to send half of the money for the bundles as a deposit. Okay, sure, no problem. Half of the money was $130, sent it, Cash App,” Jazz told TikTok. She wanted body wave bundles and didn’t hesitate to pay. Jazz also attached a photo of her Cash App transaction to her video.
“Then I proceeded to ask her for the details of the appointment. What’s the address, you know,” Jazz shared. She also asked if she needed to come to the salon with her hair washed and blow-dried. However, Jazz alleged, “It’s taking her days to respond now, after I sent the money.” Another woman from Chicago had the same problem with her luxury hair stylist, who allegedly ditched her mid-appointment. Jazz said that after she wired the money, the hair stylist had slower replies. Nevertheless, she still replied, but Jazz alleged that the stylist suddenly wanted to change appointment times.
She was starting to have doubts about this hair stylist
“That time really didn’t work for me because I did have a photoshoot scheduled, but I’m, like, willing to compromise,” Jazz said. She wanted the hair stylist to work on her hair and thought she did a good job. Moreover, she already sent the down payment, so she wanted to push through. When Jazz asked the stylist if she needed to come with her hair washed and blow-dried, the stylist took a few hours to reply on the same day.
They clarified that it was “extra,” and that “I’m going to respond when I see the message.” They told Jazz that she didn’t need to send question marks to follow up on her message. Jazz ended up asking for the address again because she still hasn’t provided the details.
“I’m planning a party, so I need to figure this out, respectfully,” Jazz explained. Since the stylist wanted to change slots, she had to work around it and find out where the studio is located. However, Jazz said she still hadn’t gotten the details. She accused the hair stylist of having inconsistent communication via message, which they denied. Upset by the interaction, Jazz told her she wouldn’t be available at the rescheduled time and asked the stylist to return the down payment.
The stylist allegedly replied through a message, “Sure thing!” They seemingly agreed on returning the money. Nevertheless, Jazz was frustrated by the stylist’s demeanor. “I have been a hair stylist for ten years. I have never talked to a client this way, ever,” she said. A few days later, Jazz said she hadn’t received the money.
Two days later, she sent another text to the hair stylist. However, the stylist allegedly ignored the message. Jazz said that although the stylist ignored her messages, she saw the stylist doing hairstyles on her social media page.
Trying to get her money back
“Yes, I tried to dispute it. Yes, I reported it,” Jazz said. However, she couldn’t get her money back through the app. Jazz was about to let the matter slide until she allegedly encountered another woman on social media with a similar experience with the same stylist. She claimed the other woman eventually got a refund, which is why Jazz posted on social media.
“If this is what it takes to get my money back, cool,” Jazz claimed. She reposted the other woman’s videos, and she allegedly got the hair stylist’s attention. The hair stylist allegedly messaged her on Instagram, promising to send the money via Cash App later in the evening. She also asked Jazz not to tag or repost her stories anymore. Jazz sent her a Cash App request on Instagram and waited. After a day, Jazz said she still hadn’t received the money.
“So, I don’t know what it is, but today, I chose violence,” she said. To date, the hair stylist still has not sent the money back. Jazz has not yet provided an update on the situation. At the very least, Jazz didn’t lose a $400 wig because of a popular hair stylist from the Bronx.
