Glen Powell’s Delightful Football Comedy Is Officially Filming Season 2!

The little show that could is continuing on to season 2! Chad Powers filming for season 2 is underway and we’re heading back with the South Georgia Catfish.
Powell posted a new image for the Hulu series that features Russ Holliday (Powell) standing on a football field with a mask in his hands. And, given how season 1 ended, at least we’ll have Russ and Coach Ricky (Perry Mattfeld) having a conversation at some point…right?
The first season of the show featured Russ deciding to try a grand return to football. The former Oregon Ducks quarterback celebrated a win at the Rose Bowl too early and lose his team the game. It resulted in Russ being “canceled” and people hating him both on and off the field.
So he decides to take control of his life by becoming Chad Powers, a football player from West Virginia. Coach Hudson (Steve Zahn) gets him enrolled in school and the rest is Catfish history. Well, that and Danny (Frankie A. Rodriguez) singing some show tunes. But the first season of the show ended on a cliffhanger for fans.
Chad’s secret was found out when Russ makes a decision to help save Coach Hudson and putting him and Ricky in his Cybertruck to get him to the hospital. It is how Ricky realized that Chad and Russ are the same person and after an emotional confrontation, Russ’ former ugly ways make a comeback. So we left season 2 on a threat: Ricky threatens to out him but he points out that their season would be null and void because of it. And that’s where we left the season.
Chad Powers is described as follows: “A disgraced college quarterback named Russ Holliday disguises himself as Chad Powers and walks onto a struggling southern football team to revive his football career.” We cannot wait to see what Chad Powers season 2 holds in store for fans!
