Black man says Boost Mobile employee called him a slur 5 times, then accused him of trying to harass her: ‘Go run your drugs somewhere else’

Not your average store visit.

A confrontation inside a Boost Mobile store has drawn attention online after a Black customer shared footage of an employee repeatedly ordering him to leave while he recorded her, and allegedly directing racial slurs at him during the encounter.

The customer, identified as Bryan Goins, shared the incident on social media, where the video circulated on November 5. In his account of what happened, Goins alleged in an Instagram story that the employee called him the N-word five times before telling him, “Go run your drugs somewhere else.” He also alleged that she subsequently accused him of trying to harass her.

The footage, reposted by @Raindropsmedia1 on x, however, begins in the middle of the confrontation, leaving the events that initially led to the disagreement unclear. In the video, Goins can be heard telling the employee to stop touching him. She responds by telling him to get out, with both repeating their respective demands as the confrontation continues through the store.

Boost Mobile employee repeatedly tells customer to leave as he records confrontation

The exchange becomes more chaotic as the employee follows Goins around the store. She repeatedly tells him to leave, while he continues directing his camera toward her and telling her to stop approaching him.

“Why are you so close to me?” Goins says during the confrontation. The employee continues shouting, “Get out,” while Goins tells her to stop touching him and makes it clear that he is recording the interaction.

At one point, the employee says, “Ain’t gonna get me fired,” before continuing to demand that Goins leave. The situation escalates further when the employee suddenly shouts “R***” toward the camera. She continues following him and yelling as he records the encounter.

The footage also captures Goins telling the employee that he is going to get the store owner involved, while she continues insisting that he leave. The video has since circulated across social media, with viewers focusing particularly on the employee’s decision to shout an accusation of sexual harassment while Goins was recording. Similar allegations of racial profiling have also circulated online in separate retail disputes.

Viewers question employee’s behavior as allegations circulate online

The video prompted divided reactions, with some viewers questioning the employee’s conduct while others argued that Goins should have left once he was told to leave the store. “I think it’s funny how [people] forget how cameras work,” one commenter wrote. Another viewer focused on the employee’s expression during the exchange, commenting, “That little smirk she made…Karen really thought she did something.”

Not everyone sided with the customer, however. One commenter argued, “If someone [tells] you to leave you leave. You don’t argue,” while another wanted to see what happened before the recording began, writing, “But what were you in there doing???? I would love to see the video showing what happened to make her feel this way.”

Others called for consequences over the employee’s apparent accusation, with one viewer writing, “This needs to come with serious consequences, enough is enough.”

The missing context has remained a point of discussion, particularly because the recording captures only part of the encounter. While Goins’ allegations have added another dimension to the controversy, neither the full exchange nor the circumstances behind the employee’s accusations have been independently established. Still, Goins framed the incident for his followers as another episode of “Karens,” writing that “the full video really [has] me in tears y’all.”
