Inception Meets Magic: The Gathering: Duel Decks, Extractors Vs. Dreamers

I love Inception, and I also love playing Magic: the Gathering. If only there were some way to experience both of those wonderful things at once. Well, I made such a way. For those of you who aren't aware of the recent Magic product lines, they have introduced a new gimmick called "Duel Decks" where two classic foes duke it out with an army of spells. Each deck is designed to reflect the magical style of its protagonist, species, or faction. So today, I am honored to present Duel Decks: Extractors Vs. Dreamers.

Below are two 40-card deck lists and the accompanying card images. Click any card to see it larger in better quality. Print them out or make proxies and let me know if the decks are actually at all balanced, or just throw a Mal Cobb card into your mono-black aggro deck and see if your friends notice. Enjoy!

The Video Website Trailer Is The Social Network But For YouTube

If you haven't seen the trailer for The Social Network, the film based on the controversies of the founding of Facebook, it's worth a watch. It's overly dark and sensationalized, and it turned me off from seeing the movie, personally, but it's full of exploitable quotes and dramatic moments, not to mention an amazing Radiohead cover. Well, now there's a trailer for the (fake) equivalent film, but this time it's about the founding of YouTube! And it does a good job of pointing out exactly why I'm turned off by the Social Network trailer, as well as being generally funny. The trailer for The Video Website can be watched below. Pokémon Black And White Story To Include ONLY New Pokémon

In an effort to make the fifth generation of the Pokémon franchise feel more like the first, Nintendo made the decision to have the story mode of the game feature exclusively new Pokémon. With every game since the first, Pokémon has kept at least a few old guys around, whether its out of laziness or to keep things somewhat familiar. Well, no more of that. Pokémon Black and Pokémon White are to be entirely new experiences. Of course, after you beat the Elite Four (unless that's revamped too?), the floodgates will be opened as they always are.

Sharp Is Building A Phone With 3D Camera, 3D Screen; No Need For Glasses

Sharp, the Japanese tech manufacturer, is taking a page from Nintendo's book. Well, technically, they're reusing the page that they added to Nintendo's book in the first place. An upcoming Sharp phone is slated to have a 3D screen that requires no 3D glasses for viewing. Hopefully it has the 3D slider feature of the Nintendo 3DS, which proved quite helpful at E3. But, also like the 3DS, the phone will have a 3D camera. Not surprising considering Sharp technology was the source of the upcoming Nintendo handheld's own impressive camera.

When I was a kid but lemons were scarce, I would sit in front of my house selling drawings and greeting cards I'd created for, if memory serves, a quarter each. A dollar, tops. Kieron Williamson is seven years old, and he just made $236,850 for his artwork. I guess that's what separates the impressionist painter prodigy from literally everyone else.

Coronal Mass Ejection: The Sun Just Spat At Us

This is the sun. For a long time, it was sleepy, lying idly in the sky, keeping us warm and cozy here on Earth. Well, now the sun is waking up after its slumber, and it wants us to know. So it's spitting at us, via a coronal mass ejection. The sun's surface erupted, sending huge amounts of plasma into space ... toward us. For reference in the image above, the eruption is the dark arc near the top of the star, not the bright patch nearer the middle. But don't worry, everyone. While the sun can and someday will bring about the apocalypse, this isn't that moment. There will be pros and cons to this event, which should start as soon as tonight and last into tomorrow. Let's start with the bad news: Some satellite communications could be disrupted. The good news: Light show! This kind of plasma attack could create a geomagnetic storm, which sounds terrifying, but would really just mean we'd get to see the Northern Lights, except they'd be all over the lower 48 states.

The Sims Goes Medieval On Itself With New, Divergent Game

The Sims franchise has always been about simulating everyday life. Sure, expansions have gotten more and more exciting with nightclubs, pets, vacations, expeditions, and a whole lot more, but the core gameplay has always centered around a mostly plausible modern day lifestyle. You have your house, your job, your friends, your cozy little neighborhood, and you grow up and live life to the fullest. That's what the franchise is about. Well, now The Sims is branching out in a major way, with the announcement of The Sims Medieval, a game set to come out for the PC and Mac in spring of 2011.

This Video Of Giant Soap Bubbles Is Mesmerizing

Before today, I thought that if I'd seen one giant soap bubble, I'd have seen them all. But I was wrong. From the moment I started the video below to the moment it ended, I couldn't look away as giant bubble after giant bubble hovered just above the ground, only to pop in a magnificent, slow unraveling. Sure I got distracted by the two dogs who have a loving reunion in the background almost five minutes in, but aside from that, it was pure bubble ecstasy. And the serene, mostly empty park on that crisp day when this was filmed only add to the mystique. But most of all, now I want to go do this myself really badly.
