In a viral TikTok video with 9,000 views, user Joshua (@joshuabdashin) described what happened when he arrived at a customer’s house to drop off a few orders.

According to the man, when he arrived, there was a woman waiting.

At first, he didn’t think much of it, especially because one of the orders had alcohol in it.

Then the woman began to behave very strangely.

“I noticed this woman was really beyond hesitant to really even kind of be near me,” Joshua said in the clip.

Still, he rationalized her behavior as a reaction to being in the presence of a stranger.

What Strange Incident Did The DoorDash Driver Encounter?

Until her behavior took a drastic turn in another direction.

“At that point, I realized that she had tried to whisper something to me,” he continued. “So I looked at her and she whispered again.”

The woman put her hand in front of the ring camera on the home and then asked for help.

After Joshua confirmed she needed help, he called 911 and reported the incident.

Ultimately, he concluded his video with an imperative for his viewers.

“If somebody does have the nerve to ask you for help, do your best to get them the help,” he said.

Have DoorDashers Encountered Life-Threatening Situations Before?

Delivery drivers have increasingly found themselves at the center of law enforcement incidents, even when they are not directly involved.

In 2025, The Guardian reported on a serious incident involving a DoorDash worker who acted on his instincts after completing a strange delivery.

The driver in west-central Texas alerted police after becoming suspicious of an order containing items that witnesses said included trash bags, zip ties, bleach and a hatchet, leading officers to an alleged hostage situation at a motel.

In another incident in May, a DoorDash driver was shot and wounded in upstate New York after getting lost, his cellphone battery died and he stopped at a home to ask whether someone there had ordered the food he was trying to deliver.

Prosecutors charged a local town official with attempted murder in the shooting.

The defendant pleaded not guilty, saying he believed his family was facing a home invasion and acted in self-defense.
