During his appearance last night on Jimmy Fallon, J.J. Abrams talked about seeing Lin Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton on a recent visit to New York. During intermission, Miranda approached Abrams (!) and jokingly offered to write music for a cantina scene, if such music should be needed in Force Awakens. Abrams took Miranda up on the offer, which tells us two things: 1. there’s a cantina scene in Force Awakens!, and 2.  J.J. Abrams knows what’s good for him.

Abrams revealed that Star Wars composer John Williams had already warned him that he would write any music for the new movie except cantina music, which I totally get. We’ve all had the Mos Eisley song stuck in our head, God knows what it’s like to know you loosed such evil on the world.

What do you think we’ll see from this new cantina scene, friends?
