In a Daily Show segment yesterday, Trevor Noah addressed the new Star Wars trailer and #BoycottStarWarsVII, a hashtag with which many Twitter users are sincerely arguing that The Force Awakens promotes “white genocide” by starring people of color.
Noah also looked at other times nerds have flipped their bigoted shit when forced to deal with non-white protagonists in genre media, specifically the asinine controversy surrounding Michael B. Jordan’s role in Fantastic Four, and Amandla Stenberg’s part in The Hunger Games.
