You know the headache you get when you play on a Nintendo 3DS for too long? How would you like that headache to continue while you are sending texts? Because that’s probably what you’re going to be getting from Amazon later today if the rumors are any indication, and we’ve got the live feed for you right here.
As much as I joke about the idea of a 3D smartphone display being not a thing you would necessarily want, this could be a huge move for Amazon if it’s true–unless their phone goes the way of the Facebook phone from HTC, of course — though that was largely due to failure of Facebook Home, because Facebook Home was a trainwreck. But considering how ubiquitous their Kindle eReader now is, and how desperately they would like to change their headline in the wake of two very public contract disputes with the Hachette Book Group and Time Warner, this long-rumored smartphone might be just the thing to put them back in the public’s good graces.
