Halloween is fast approaching, and with it comes the second biggest free comic event of the year: Halloween ComicFest, which is happening this Saturday and Sunday at participating comic book stores all over the country. So make sure you get yourself to one this weekend!

According to the press release sent out by a representative of Diamond Comic Distributors, select stores will be giving out free Halloween-themed comics and mini-comics all weekend while supplies last. These will include Batman, Spider-Man, Thor, Adventure Time, Archie, Sonic, and 16 other titles that fans of all ages will enjoy. Individual bookstores will also be hosting their own events like comic book signings, artist appearances, pumpkin decorating, community blood drives and charity fundraisers, and costume contests.

Speaking of costume contests, even if you can’t get there in time to snag yourself one of those free titles, you can also participate in the Halloween ComicFest costume contest, All you have to do is snag one of the official costume contest buttons from your local store and submit a picture of yourself wearing the button while in costume to the Halloween ComicFest contest website before November 15th. The winners will recieve a $500 shopping spree to the comic book store of their choice.

To find our whether your local store is one of the 1,400 locations partipating, head on over to the Halloween ComicFest store locator to learn more. You can also look through the titles that will be available here. We’re real excited for the Halloween L’il Gotham issue, but that’s just us.
